What a wonderful getaway!

My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with our children at Craig’s place. It was amazing! Our children had never seen snow and the front yard was covered! We had a relaxing weekend where we played games, had a snow ball fight and just reconnected as a family while celebrating our marriage with who mattered most. We have family moving to the area and are looking forward to booking this home during the summer!

Short Getaway

We came up for the Christmas Festival in Galax. This was the perfect location and the perfect lil house for our stay. It had everything we needed for cooking and was so cozy and warm. We hope to come back in the Spring and do some kayaking down the New River.

A little "home away from home" with every convenience you would want! The New River is right in front of the house with views of surrounding mountains. We enjoyed the "jam sessions" of mountain music in nearby towns of Independence and Fries, VA. A tour of the Matthews working farm was a treat. Lots of things to do and places to eat. Highly recommend Fries Dam Steakhouse! Our host was very helpful. Want to go back and stay longer. Room for 6 sleepers. Just bring your toothbrush and clothes!!

Great River View Stay

Perfect sized house for a couple or small family. Well appointed, loved the porch and river view. Convenient to town. Quiet neighbors and little traffic on road between house and river made for a very peaceful stay, but we were there Sun-Wed, so can’t speak for the weekends.

What an amazing location! The cabin is very nice and clean. We were very impressed with the amenities that were provided! From tp to pots and pans, even spices, even cutwood for the fire. This is absolutely a great home to stay yet great for fishing kayaking it’s a easy drive over to old town to get your kayaks but our family did kayak down toward the dam at Fries I’ve actually got a home there but it’s under renovation

A gorgeous place with absolutely breathtaking views!!!

The cabin was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. My wife and I mainly sat by the firepit outside and enjoyed the quiet peace of nature. Amoung amenities, they even had firewood stored, even though I took my own. The host was very polite and considerate with every request. We will definitely be back!!! Book your trip to this place...
