"This review is specifically for room number 0, the twin room (bunk bed). The top bunk bed was uncomfortable. Whether you put your head on one side (right next to the AC) or the other (next to a wall indent with MOLD) it is impossible to sleep. As for the changing rooms (connected to the showers), they also have mold on the walls. The exhaust fans in the toilet rooms barely work resulting in a perpetual unpleasant smell. "My family and I stayed here two nights just before Christmas. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The owner offers a shuttle bus during the morning hours to Gora Station, which is very helpful for getting to Hakone ropeway. Local restaurants were a bit unaccessible as it was off-season but this inn has its own great little restaurant kitchen. We had two dinners here and tried almost everything on the menu. "The staff are wonderful and so friendly. The location is a short walk from the Gora station and there’s a lovely coffee shop at the base of the hill the hotel is on. The rooms are plenty spacious and the bar / social area is warmly lit and friendly. The other guests staying were welcoming and chatty but would give you space if needed to. And the onsen!? Amazing. The stone bath is a great size to relax in and you can book a slot for the evening before you head out in the morning, the cypress...
