Owner was lovely on the phone when I spoke to her regarding reservation. House was lovely. Heavy storm hit, house was surrounded by water that took more than 24 hours to recede. City sewer system couldn’t handle, toilets started gurgling, would not flush reliably. Had to drive to a house two streets over I had rented from another owner for family to stay in where toilets worked fine... Called for help, told it was the city’s sewer problem and someone would be out by end of day to drain. No one came. Called mgmt service that evening, no call back. Called early next morning, no call back. Called 10:45 am, told they would call city again. I called city myself and guy told me he’d come drain. Got word city had drained, one flush worked perfectly. Then gurgling started again. Contacted Mgmt service again, suggested clogged or misaligned vent, asked about reasonable accommodation because toilets working elsewhere, told they’d check on it. No response. Checked just now, told to go through Homeway, not their problem. Renter beware, suggest you confirm toilets are working and no storm in forecast. The owner was lovely and is on vacation, I believe this issue and my disappointment rests squarely with the management service - Beach Resort Services. I have stayed in a rental with an owner who couldn’t make other arrangements to get of the house they rented to me, with communication and a small discount for the principle, we camped with the owner. I have never left negative feedback. The lack of communication, empathy, and reasonable accommodation for the principle of having to drive elsewhere to go to the bathroom is the reason I am leaving the first negative feedback I have ever left.
