"A lovely homely cottage, comfortable and well equipped, with a rather special riverside location offering views and privacy. Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. We only had a short stay but got a lot in , including a trip to Wivenhoe on the riverside opposite. Will definitely rebook next time we are 'out East' ."

"Lovely cottage, super clean and everything you could imagine was provided. Kitchen was well equipped, and so was the bathroom with toiletries provided. Great that breakfast was provided too. Private garden with comfortable seating. Able to park outside for loading and unloading then moved to an off road car park just down the road. "This property was basic but perfectly comfortable and in a stunning location! The lane to the property was very over geown and unfortunately my husbands car (which has low clearance) was unable to get down it. But the owner soon dorted an alternative for us. The neighbours ford focus had bo problems so i would say this wont be a problem for most! Access down to views over the estuary and walks from the house was great. No wifi but perfectly good signal for 4g - or a good excuse to go off grid....

"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. "Communication from owner was clear, friendly and helpful. Property is fairly quiet, with lovely sitting room and log burner. Master bedroom was nice with plenty of space around the bed and openable windows to get the temperature right."
