Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you’ve prepared well enough. We’ve made a list of handy tips that will help get your Al Aaroui escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you’ve got all the right gear. Firstly, you’ll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have a sharp object hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive goods, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, natural-fiber clothing and take a jacket just in case you get chilly. Opt for a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your luggage.
- Most travelers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are plenty of ways to minimize your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
