"Easy15 mins, to walk into town centre. Situated on a Very busy road, so traffic noise at night, which we were aware of when booking. Old building. In need of complete refurbish in bedrooms, Bathroom/toilet door did not close. Sour smell in bathroom, which filtered into bedroom. Very welcoming on arrival, all staff very helpful. Busy bar in an evening. Food available if required. "

"Check in nightmare. Bottom of stairs outside very very busy pub toilets on way to restaurant! Took ages lots of moving bags. Breakfast ok.... apart from they bring your hot food.... THEN ask if you want toast. Then go and make it. So if you wait everything is cold."

"Was a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a nice location, I do like the kings inn hotels but admittedly the bathroom wasn’t very clean nor modern and it did smell a little, but it was still good for the price we paid to stay there. The bed was comfortable and we had a sleep without any disturbances. Also breakfast was nice, and the bar maids were very nice and it was very calm and chilled to sit and have a drink in the evening. "

"Not only did we enjoy our lodging at the Fat Badger but the meals we had there were fabulous as well. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us during their busy holiday season. The property is cozy and convenient to the city center and we couldn’t have been happier with the staff. We had a lovely stay."

"Wonderful old pub. The staff was very friendly. I hung out at the pub for trivia night. Great food and beer and quiet rooms. Rooms are across the street from the pub so noise not a problem."

"Very festive beautiful deco, it felt so cosy .staff very cheerful and very helpful .very comfy bed and clean couldn't fault the place had a fantastic time and the lady who cooked our breakfast was so lovely as was the perfect breakfast. free parking .close to all amenities.will be going back .thankyou all ."

"The rooms are above a pub, in a convenient location. They are alongside the York art gallery and a very short walk to the Minster. There are a number of pubs and restaurants within a short walk as you would expect. The White Horse is only around 10 minutes walk from the station on well lit busy streets. I arrived at the hotel about an hour before official check-in time, but the staff were very friendly and managed to get my room ready early while I settled down with an excellent pint (good...

"Nice pub, our room was above bar so you could hear the bar below, it's a pub at the end of the day so you have to expect some noise. Room clean and tidy bed comfy shower good and hot, tea making facilities tea bags wont replenished. For the price of room it was value for money. "Fabulous location opposite the end of the Shambles and within easy walking distance of all of York’s attractions. Only one vegetarian option on the menu and limited selection of cask ales. There was no room cleaning for the 3 nights we stayed there - toilet rolls and drink replenishment had to be asked for downstairs. Cups were cardboard ‘to-go’ variety and there was no hairdryer.
