4/10 Poor

Disliked: Cleanliness
Not as described
Where to begin? The property is a single motel room located at the end of a small strip of motel rooms. It is the very end room, so there is a “lake view”, but there is no window in the bedroom and the single window facing the water is behind the “couch“.
The good:
Communication with the property manager was good. The code to the door was sent to us timely and we were able to arrive a little early. The front office was responsive when we needed a small item (roll of toilet paper). The shared area with grass and fire pit was large enough to entertain and the view from that area is beautiful. The TV was nice and cable/satellite worked well. The bed was very comfortable.
The bad:
The apartment was not clean, nor were any of the common areas. The in-wall air conditioner was not properly sealed and had a large bath towel jammed in the heater vent below to absorb water. The couch was dirty, stained, and covered with an old blanket, In addition, it was unbelievably uncomfortable and every time you sat down it felt like you would break it. The kitchenette is so small, it is completely useless, there is really no way to make meals, making coffee is as much as you can do. The keyless door handle was very loose and it looked as if the door had been kicked in or forced open at some point. We did not feel secure at any time during the stay.
Overall, the experience was poor. Mostly because I feel the property was not described accurately and was severely over-priced. If it was described properly and priced accordingly, it would have been half the price, and we would not have stayed there. We were looking for a few relaxing days on the water without the kids and price was not the most important consideration. Unfortunately, we received an over-priced motel room in which we didn’t feel safe or comfortable in. In a word, disappointing.
