"We were there for the view, and oh what a view from our window, pyramids and the Sphinx! At checkin we were welcomed as family and treated as such with every question we had. The included breakfast buffet is large and has varied options. The property is vintage and could use some spiffy-ing and the area is not as appealing as some but we knew that when booking, it’s part of the experience. "We had a great stay at the Sofitel. Friendly staff, nice rooms and a fantastic view over the River Nile and under the right weather conditions also the pyramids. With a room facing towards south we had direct Nile view all the way around us with a nice long distance to the busy streets of Cairo. The room was nice a cozy. Definitely not brand new, but clean and spacious. Only downside is the poor noice insulation of the balcony door. The party boats can be quite loud - so bring your earbuds!...
