On the sandy shores of the Black Sea, Eforie is a treat for sunbathers, with its countless deckchairs and several piers. Visit both the southern and northern sections, with a range of hotels scattered around the two. In the midst of the resorts are the vast Lake Techirghiol and a narrow strip of land cutting it off from the sea.
Stroll lazily along the beach of North Eforie and enjoy the lively atmosphere. It is ideal for kids because it is generally safe with shallow water, gentle waves and few rocks.
Visit one of the region’s famous health spas for treatment of rheumatic diseases and other medical concerns. Enjoy warm salt baths from the water of Lake Techirghiol. Mud facials, saunas and massages are available at these spas.
Make your way 3 miles (5 kilometers) south along a thin stretch of land to reach South Eforie. This is the quieter of the two resorts, with charming alleys that lead from the town to the beach. Visit Splendid Beach for its row of large rocks and wooden walkways. Relax with a drink on a terrace with a view of the sea and the sound of crashing waves.
The southern resort offers spas providing services featuring the claimed healing properties of the lake. Minerals in mud masks are said to help the skin. Swim in the large salty body of water for a change of scenery from the sea.
The commune has had several names over the years, including Carmen-Sylva, in reference to Romanian royalty. It is a 20-minute drive south of Constanta, the county seat. The resort is in southeastern Romania, in an area of many beach towns, including Costinesti and Mangalia. Arrive at Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport and rent a car for the 28-mile (45-kilometer) drive south.
Choose between the lively north and the tranquil south in the lake-filled resort town of Eforie on the scenic shores of the Black Sea.
