Spent too much time on Ancestry during quarantine and wanted to visit the area to discover where my grandfather, great grandparents and great-great grandparents were born and raised. Also was tired of being in the house after a year and a half so as soon as me and my daughters were vaccinated, we found this cute little house online and reserved a few days in July and took off on a road trip from Texas with the dog. The area is nice a quiet and in a little neighborhood that is tucked away on the river. The house is beautiful and was stocked with everything we needed. The owner provided us with all the info we needed to use the house and to get the canoe out (which we had a lot of fun on). There was ample space for all of us and then some. We spent a lot of time out on the deck or down by the river or in the river. We saw a river otter, woodchuck, bald eagle and more and that was perfect for my little biologist in the making. We did have dinner one night at the Edinburg Mill which was nice. If you're looking for quiet and relaxation, this is the place.
