Remote, Quiet Location but Had a Few Issues
A lovely location for those wanting a secluded retreat. The suite itself was clean and charming, a bit rustic. The bed was comfortable with nice linens, check in was simple.
We were disappointed to find that the only soap available was in the bathroom in a dispenser that had less than an ounce left. There was also no coffee even though there was a coffee machine. When I called the property manager, I was told that she would contact the housekeeper about providing more soap but that the owner obviously chose Not to provide coffee so we should have brought our own coffee and filters. WHAT!?
And no, the housekeeper never did bring any more soap.
It clearly stated on check out instructions that we should wash all dishes before checking out. What were we supposed to use? The small amount of lotion soap in the bathroom. Made me wonder if the mugs and glasses were actually clean. I understood that there wouldn't be a kitchen but rather an area with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. But there was only one spoon available, no plates or bowls.
Finally, on the first night, there was a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. It was really strong and nauseating but seemed to dissipate by the morning.
This is from the listing:
"The Southern Comfort is a splendid option, featuring luxury linens, private baths, hair dryers, soaps, and shampoos to cater to your needs. As a thoughtful touch, we provide freshly ground coffee to help you kickstart your mornings. "
