「Pleasant riad with helpful staff. About a 10 minute walk to the historical ramparts. Portugese Cistern is closed for repairs. About 1/2 hour walk to area with choices of restaurants. Area around the riad was not a touristed area at all. We stopped in El Jadida en route to Casablanca instead of returning to Marrakech from Essaouira, and travelling to Casablanca from Marrakech. However, in hindsight that might have been a better option. 」

「This riad is a gem. Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly, even bringing us a wonderful bottle of wine with nuts and chips on our first of two nights. It was all very comfortable and I would recommend this riad. 」

「This is a great riad, and possibly the best place to stay in Safi. Ask a local how to find it, initially; they all know the place and it is hard to find if you don't know. It is fairly simple, but comfortable, quiet, clean, traditional and cosy. We were not given the room we booked, and had two singles instead of a double, hence the 4/5 stars, but otherwise we enjoyed a delightful stay here. 」

「So obviously the hotel industry is hurt during the pandemic, but the description of this hotel is misleading. It promised bottled water and welcome drinks: neither were available as the hotel doesn’t have the money for it anymore. In the room I was in was an ant graveyard - countless dead ants over all surfaces (counter, toilet, shower, toilet paper, even some in the bed). I spent the first 30 minutes of my stay cleaning up the room with sanitary wipes. Grime, cobwebs, and dead ants covered wipe...
