I was thankful we were on the third floor so we could see the water from our unit. When checking in, there aren’t unit numbers available and it’s a little tricky to find if you have never been to Destin before. Once we found it though, it was always easy.
The walk to the beach was easy, however the gate code to get in was incorrect.
The unit itself was dated but clean. Loved having two full bathrooms and a half bath with 7 of us in the unit. My biggest complaint was that there were barely any outlets that held a cord securely. The tv’s were tricky to figure out, the one in the master bedroom was unusable as none of the remotes worked with it (not a huge deal).
Biggest tip for other renters: bring garbage bags, dishwasher AND laundry soap and dish cloth (if you don’t like using sponges and don’t want to use one designed for your body). The management will only give you the small starter pack of two pods of each detergent and two garbage bags. Had we known this we would have brought some from home and not had to buy it all and haul back home.
Overall, our experience was actually pretty good. The code to get in and out of the unit is genius. No cards to loose! We rented the chairs from the beach and only had one day that people broke the rule of sitting in front of the beach chairs, but they were very friendly so we didn’t mind.
