The location is everything about this property! It does not get much better in Del Mar, CA. The management was very responsive and helpful. The beach is excellent: surf directly in front, beach vollyball, with outside and inside (garage) showers for post-beach activites. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Read the description very carefully, it is accurate.The house, furniture and amentities are very old and tired. The layout is odd, no access directly onto the beach patio. The place needs a facelift, especially furniture, paint and windows. The windows are difficult to see out of to the beach, paint is peeling everywhere especially on the outside and balconies and the furniture is not comfortable. Most of the rooms have single beds, so it sleeps a lot of people, just not couples. Its great for families with lots of kids. Overall, this is a beach house with a location that cannot be better. Don't expect luxury, just fun.

The house itself, and the location were fabulous - on the water, in a great area of Delmar. I have stayed in dozens of rentals like this . Where this house really lacked was in “amenities.“ There was no user manual to explain the house, there was no coffee, even a small amount, to get you through to the next morning. There was no sense of welcome or personal touches from the host. The fireplace was dirty - no firewood on site. I had to text management regarding where to buy firewood. This lack of attention was typical: no ice, (the ice maker was broken,) no broom - it’s on a beach, so there’s sand in the house, no soap - It all added up to a lack of good service. But we had a great time, and it’s a lovely location.

The location is hard to beat. The management was very responsive and helpful. A few things could be improved, but we had an overall pleasant stay. We had a minor ceiling leak with some dripping water for a short time. The stove was a bit hard to use. It took a really long time to boil a pot of water. The house lacks some of the comforts of a modern home or comfy furnishings, but that’s probably why the price is so much lower than anywhere else with a location like this. Worth it!

Like an Ocean Front hotel, only better
The house is tremendous in size and location. This ocean front spot is perfectly situated and it feels like a private beach. the HUGE living room is perfect for larger groups and the bedrooms are spread out so there's still great privacy. There's enough parking for six or seven cars, which is always an issue near the beach. the media room is a bonus!

Mini vacay
Nice great, grand entrance. It instantly reminded me of Old Town in San Diego. Absolutely charming with some of the original wood and decors. We had a total of 5 adults and 2 children sleeping there during our stay, and our other immediate family members came by during the day and spent time with us at the beach. This is definitely one of our favorite beach rentals in San Diego and the location was perfect. Even though the house is right next to public entrance to the beach and a lifeguard tower, it didn't bother us, it was still quiet and we still had privacy. We will definitely keep this one in mind for future vacay.

Great Weekend!
We rented this house as a quick getaway and to celebrate our daughters birthday. The house is awesome. Plenty of rooms, lots of beach toys and very well stocked. The location is the best! We will definitely be returning.

Just about perfect
The house is big, roomy. plenty of bathrooms. The bedrooms were a good size. The kitchen is small especially if you have a lot of guest. We were 9 adults and 5 children. You gotta keep a close eye on the little ones. This house is NOT child proof as explained in the rental agreement. There's nothing fancy. The carpets / furnishings are old and the house is stuffy and warm. The fans made it bearable. Putting all this aside, the view was amazing. You are 5 steps away from the beach. The beach is clean. People kept their distance. We felt safe-Covid wise. So, if you're looking for a house on the beach, that accommodates a large family, with no frills, this is the place.

Excellent house in excellent neighborhood
The house we selected was amazing!! It had more amenities than we ever could have expected, including coffee, seasoning/spices. Dry good items for baking, even. Lots of beach towels and a close line on the side of the house for outside drying of said towels and swimsuits. There was a complication with the dryer, but the management company was quick to try and resolve it. It needed a replacement and I am confident that will occur soon. We left before it took place, but they were so accommodating!! I will use VRBO again and also the house. I recommend it to others as well.

Awesome location right on the sand in Del Mar. The house itself is very "vintage" on the inside. The layout of the rooms is totally adequate and its a great place to spend a few days on the sand. Pros: Location on the Sand Cost for Location Lots of sleeping spaces Ping Pong Room! Lots of Parking Cons Very "vintage" - 1940s maybe? Kitchen needs upgrade Access to deck area - needs to be opened up Smells like Old Lady (Not Old Spice) Funky layout

Beautiful, if slightly older home. Pictures do not do the main great room justice. It's and awesome, large space for larger gathering with views of the ocean. Kitchen may be small, but side room works great as a staging area. Multiple bedrooms, small but personal. Great stay.
