Unfortunately, our first night there was unforgettable. We traveled from Hoi An to Danang, and spent the day at Marble Mountain. We checked into hotel, and our room was on16th floor. We went to dinner and then back for a much needed sleep. At 10 pm, we were awoken by very loud DJ music. It was coming from the hotel’s pool area on the roof top. The hotel sold tickets for a New Year’s Eve party! The music was so loud it was vibrating the window! Around 11 pm, I went down to lobby and asked to speak to manager. I told him that we should have been fair warned ahead of time, and would not have made reservations there. I also told him I paid for a room to sleep in and that I could not sleep. He offered to move us to the 6th floor. I laughed because we were in the lobby and we could hear the music, so it wasn’t advantageous to move. I also said that there is only an hour left to go…. and he said nothing. Well, it went on until 12:45 am. We were exhausted the next day. At breakfast, all guests either looked extremely tired or very hungover. Some were sleeping at their table!
I asked the manager to reimburse us for the night since the hotel did not uphold the contract. I was offered a massage instead. I told the manager no massage and just want to be reimbursed for 1 night. He said he would talk to upper management. I still have not seen any credit on my charge card. This made the remaining 4 days uncomfortable. As for staff, thumbs up to Lyla.
