Overall, the cabin was mediocre for a short group stay. When we arrived, the biggest issue was that the two screen doors fell right off the tracks when we tried to enter the cabin. Though we tried to fix them, we had to leave one of the unattached screen doors on the deck for the rest of the trip and keep all doors closed so that bugs wouldn’t come in (we also took photos of the damaged screens upon arrival). The grill didn’t work very well (flame was way too low at its highest setting to even cook meat), but the hot tub was great. Be sure to bring your own cleaning supplies especially Windex and laundry detergent.
One major thing that needs to be changed about this listing is the dock slip. When called to rent a dock slip for our boat (as advertised by this listing), they let us know “the board” had decided renters were not allowed to dock right by the property. We had believed there would be lake access from the cabin, and instead had to drive 20 minutes away to a different dock. This plan worked out fine, but the listing mentions dock slips are available and this is misleading.
Also note that trash needs to be dropped off at a compactor near the manager’s office, but when we called to ask for the office address, no one could give us good direction or even an address. We ended up roaming through the community with bags of trash in our car until we stumbled upon the compactor. Directions for trash drop off should be more clear.
If you don’t plan to spend much time in the cabin and will be mostly outdoors, then I’d recommend this cabin. But I’m not sure that I’d rent it myself again.
