Madrid’s eye-catching modern business park is comprised of the four largest towers in Spain, which were designed by some of the world’s leading architects.

In a city of many great historical monuments, the Cuatro Torres Business Area is a bold architectural statement. In the early 2000s, the city council assigned sites for four new towers on the area that used to be a training ground for Madrid’s beloved soccer club, Real Madrid. These towers were to be spaced far enough apart that they could be viewed individually. Each tower was assigned to world-leading architects with the aim of producing sustainable and innovative office buildings. The result was the Cuatro Torres Business Park, a modern landmark that defines the city skyline.

Start your tour outside the Torre Caja Madrid, the tallest building in Spain and headquarters of the country’s oldest savings bank. This award-winning 55-story structure was designed by Lord Norman Foster, one of the world’s most prolific architects who was also responsible for the dome on the Reichstag in Berlin and the Hearst Building in New York City. Admire this modern take on the grand arch design, with its large void near the top and its 72-foot (22-meter) tall glass atrium that serves as an entryway for visitors.

The nearby Torre de Cristal was Spain’s tallest building when it was completed in 2007, but it was overtaken by the Torre Caja Madrid by a small margin. Note the angled sculptural form of the tower, which reflects the sky. Special cells on the roof heat water for the offices and a huge glass curtain wall holds integrated blinds that automatically adjust according to natural light levels.

The Torre Espacio is the smallest of the four towers and is recognizable by its curved façade. The Torre PWC contains the headquarters of multinational companies and the luxury hotel Eurostars Madrid Tower. Enjoy a meal at the two-story dining room with panoramic views of Madrid and stay in some of Europe’s highest hotel rooms.

The Cuatro Torres Business Park is located on the Paseo de la Castellano, Madrid’s main north-south thoroughfare. It is easily accessible by bus or by metro, with the Plaza Castilla and Chamartín stations nearby. Some parking is available underground for a fee
