Parking
The house was wonderful. The yard is not kept up. There is a lot of debris, tree limbs, leaves and small trees growing everywhere. The deck is slick due to mildew. The drive way is very steep. They even put in a longer driveway however this is still very steep. I have a SUV ,not 4 wheel drive, and when it rained I could not get up driveway. The hot tub was great but only 2 jets were working. The TV worked but the volume kept going to mute. I contacted the rental and they brought us another TV but it was small.

Needs updating
Stay was okay. We would not stay here again. Inside was clean but very dark and dreary. Outside needs cleaning. Just an older house that needs some work. If you had more than one car I don’t know where you would park.

Chalet Up on a hill
Steep driveway followed by steps inside and out. Very dark home due to trees all around and poor lighting inside. Clean yet could use a thorough cleaning inside and out. Very rustic and neighborhood very hilly. No fan on stove, so fire alarm sounds when cooking. Some may enjoy place but we are in our 70’s and prefer less rustic and better walking areas with our dog. Will say the management company was excellent responding to our problem with the tv when we arrived. Also showers excellent and water got hot quickly. WI-FI was excellent as well.

Relaxing stay
We had a wonderful girls getaway weekend and can’t wait to make it a tradition! I will say there are a few things to make note of though. There’s not really any good directions for finding the cabin, especially at night. When you turn on walnut hills circle, you make the first left (seems like a driveway but it’s a street/circle) and it’s the second house on the right. We came in at night so that made it more difficult but even during the day the house numbers are not noticeable and really should be at the end of the drive. We actually went too far, because we making circles as we tried to find it and ended up on a really creepy driveway. The cabin can be very dark as well. During the day, the natural light is beautiful and perfect but at night the lights are so dim, it’s hard to see. And there are a bunch of lamps but we found that a lot of them didn’t turn on. Maybe it was just us. There’s also not a fan for the oven or a fan at all to circulate air so every time we cooked, the fire alarm went off. It was annoying but not a deal breaker for us. The cabin was very accommodating for us though and the deck and scenery is absolutely beautiful!! Overall it was a great experience and we made some great memories!

Work In Progress
I booked this property to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday with family. A quick little get away. The property definitely needs some work. The fire pit on the deck is old and doesn’t work, one of the chairs broke when my father sat in it (it was began to dry rot), the showers were opposite, meaning cold was hot and hot was cold, the only “sign” was on a small chalkboard in the main levels bathroom. The hot tub was okay, the top is super old, no handles so made getting it off and on pretty difficult. Also, pray that the well doesn’t go out like it did for us. It’s a community well, and unfortunately we went without water for 12+ hours. I definitely think this property has promise, and could be a really nice get away for a family, just needs a bit of updating in my opinion.

Nice mountain visit
Reservation process was smooth. Cabin is cute and roomy. Loft and basement were great. I loved the deck area. Only drawback was parking. Driveway is very short and steep. Can only fit one medium SUV (I have an RDX).

Quiet and peaceful
My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and this place was great. There are other houses close by but there are trees separating this place from most of the neighbors and it was very quiet. The cabin was clean. It was within a 15/20 min drive from West Jefferson which is a nice town to shop, eat, and check out the farmer's market. Definitely check out Grayson Highlands Park just 30 min north in Virginia. If you're there on a Friday night and you'd like to get a taste of the local culture, stop by Phipps General Store (you can find them on Facebook) and listen to locals sit around playing bluegrass music. If you're planning to cook at the cabin, you may want to bring spices as they just had salt and pepper. The showers had the best water pressure I've ever experienced in a cabin (with lots of shelves for bath products) and the water gets hot fast and stays hot. The king bed was not that comfortable but we made it work. The queen seemed like it was more comfortable. The sectional in the living room was great for lounging and the large kitchen table provides ample space for those that like to play games or put together puzzles. The driveway is short but very steep, if you go in the winter just make sure you have an appropriate vehicle. Overall, it was a great place to relax and destress.

Nice Time
We had a nice time at the property. The house itself needs a little more cleaning to be great. Some of the electrical outlets didn't work and the cleaning crew missed some dishes. But, the place was warm and a good place to get away from the daily grind. The location is peaceful and beautiful.
