"This hotel is situated nicely on a quiet hill. The hotel is newly renovated and extremely clean. I have stayed here twice and the staff is accommodating. Independence is a small town with a few restaurants which are mostly closed on Sunday. There is a nice grocery store and a dollar store walking distance from the hotel. I stay here when I visit my children that are currently attending Oak Hill Academy. It is about a 15-20 minute drive up to the School from the hotel. "

"Very nice cabins well appointed furnishings and bedding. Quaint and rustic. I stayed in the cabins Friday but since no cabin was available Saturday they did have a tree house... Yes a treehouse... Available on Saturday. I really didn't feel like finding a different place so I took the tree house... But I didn't read the description. I just figured it was the same as the cabin but a treehouse. And I'm leaving 5 stars because they shouldn't pay the price for my hurry to book the room before knowing what I was booking. What didn't I like? For the most part it's this. The treehouse had no electricity whatsoever. There's a few other details but basically that's it. I really needed it to charge my phone my power Bank and my bt speaker. I was able to charge some of my stuff in the bathroom which was located at the back of the cabins. There's other things I can pick on but that would be gratuitous. If I go again I would pick the cabin. But I think you really need to see the treehouse because it did have a very cool and unique vibe. Very tree house -y. It might be exactly what you want!"

"We are still bragging about this property days after returning home. I'm not sure where to start. From the moment you walk in there is an at home feeling. The cabin is so well laid out for comfort. The view is beyond words for beauty and the hot tub certainly was very relaxing. But there was also a gas fireplace with a swivel tv with many cable channels for inside enjoyment. The wifi worked great and the kitchen was completely stocked for our needs. We actually spent more time in the cabin than on normal getaways because it was so complete for entertainment. The communication with Brian was excellent. To put it in my best words possible, it was simply amazing!! "
