Rental house in a quiet country setting-1.5 miles from Coon Valley, WI. 2 Bedrooms with queen beds, loft with tv area and queen murphy bed, Fully furnished kitchen, 2 full baths, linens provided, AC, Cable, Wireless, Washer/Dryer, Gas Grill on deck, Towels/Washcloths provided, Vacuum cleaner, magazines, books, games, flat screen television, three porches for relaxing, private backyard/fire pit, hiking trails available on property.

A very quiet, relaxing setting. Close to world class trout fishing streams, bicycling trails, road cycling, snowmobiling, and cross country ski trails.

New for 2015* I have remodeled an additional bedroom Suite on the basement level of the Villa. This has a Queen bed, bathroom/shower, couch, kitchenette area with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. T.V., wireless, and private patio area. This rents for an additional $100.00 per night. Pricing listed here does not include this suite. This suite is only rented to the regular Villa occupants for more space.

Awful smell and lack of communication
Initially everything with the place was good. We got in, we were actually able to use the lower unit last minute, and the place was pretty nice. However, the first night we got there, we used the microwave/fan above it and an awful smell came from it. A friend that was there said it was mouse pee that was likely up in the vent. The smell filled the house. The smell was TERRIBLE. We contacted the property manager and heard nothing for the remaining two days of our stay. We were able to use cleaning supplies and air it out over night which made the smell go away, but not hearing from anyone is what ticked us off and having to deal with it overnight (and in the first place) was a turn off instantly to the place. Also, the upstairs bathroom toilet would squeak every time it’s flushed and randomly throughout the stay even if no one used it. It wouldn’t stop until we lifted the back lid and shook the inside parts of it. So those are my three biggest complaints. No communication from the property manager, an awful smell after using the microwave, and the toilet issue. Otherwise the house was clean, check in was easy, and the location was great. There was a set of 3 frisbee cages across the way which was neat. But those three things is why I will not be coming here again, all of which could’ve been fixed with some communication from someone.

Perfect for visiting family

Great property!
This villa was perfect for our family of five while we were in the area for Christmas. The property was very clean, and the views of the surrounding bluffs were beautiful. The only minor issue was the toilets made a high pitched sound after flushing, but this was not a huge issue for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Super Holiday Stay near Family
Close to family in Wisconsin for the holidays, cozy stay for all including our dog. Great living area to hang out, clean, friendly & responsive host, comfy beds. Will book here for holidays whenever family here hosts!

Poor communication with owner
Check in process was sorta strange. Property was open and keys were supposed to be on the table but we had to look for them. There were lots of air fresheners all over and we had to unplug them immediately; too strong. Some dog hair on carpet and on furniture. We had asked to reserve the extra room, got an email that it was not available but was charged anyway. After many attempts to contact the Owner we contacted VRBO who contacted owner and then we were refunded the charge for the extra room.

Family fun
Love the villa. It was perfect for the bunch of us from Illinois. We planned the stay for a Family Reunion in LaCrosse. Once we arrived it was a perfect place for our reunion and Pete( property owner) agree to let us have it there instead! We had a great time with the family and are planning to do it next year too.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Sitting on the front porch and looking at the trees and hills was a wonderful reprieve from life in the city. Communication with the host was excellent.

Beautiful property
We had a great stay. Clean, well outfitted, the microwave has been replaced. The pitbull (mentioned in recent reviews) did wander over, but he is elderly and friendly, not at all threatening. The bedding and towels were good quality, and smelled like fresh laundry! Was nice to put the teens upstairs and get some distance from them since we're awake a lot earlier. It was odd that the downstairs apartment is offered for rent in the description, seemed there was a young adult couple living in the downstairs apartment, however they left the afternoon we arrived and returned Sunday morning before we checked out so we had the villa to ourselves most of our stay. Loved sitting on the front porch listening to the small stream in the side yard. We hiked the trails, and found the one leading to the top of the bluff, trailhead is on the highway if you turn right/uphill out of the property's lane.

Great Rural House Close to La Crosse
We stayed at the Villa for the weekend of our daughter's graduation from UW-L. We were able to bring our two small dogs along, which was a huge plus. This property is nicely appointed and clean. Very comfortable. Kitchen is spacious and the grill right up on the porch made our cookout easy, even though the weather was uncooperative. Only concerns - the neighbors have curious pit bulls who seem to have the run of the area. One we mentioned it, the neighbors did seem to keep them away from our property. The second is that the furnace would not produce heat. We did have a cool night where it would have been nice, but it was not a deal breaker. All in all, a great stay in a nice, quiet, secluded property. Thanks!

Owners, son, and live in girlfriend, live in small apartment below the rent the big rental unit noisy will not go back there again.

There were a few things that did not add up to the description. The microwave was completely unusable (broken and unable to work), the check in process was interesting as we never got our own key, and he had his son renting the basement quarters. He was doing his laundry there when we arrived. All very unexpected for our stay. A little communication goes a long way. We made the most of it and he is a nice man and has a nice dog(Caesar- 15 years old ) that will show up at the home.

Horrible experience
Do not stay here. We stayed on a stormy weekend and the basement flooded. We attempted to reach out to the owner several times but they were completely unreachable. Vrbo was also zero help. We had photos of the flooding and submitted them in hopes of a reimbursement for the nights we lost but they denied our claim saying it was a water leak. A water leak that only occurred during the storm and no other time. I strongly advise rent somewhere else and use any other vacation app.

Awesome Getaway
Stayed here with my spouse, his parents, and his brother plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was stocked with spices and basic cooking needs. Pete was great at answer our questions, and stopped by twice to check in on how our stay was going. Great location to feel like you are secluded out in the middle of nowhere, but also close enough to La Crosse to go exploring in town. Would stay again!

Quiet location
Home is clean and very comfortable. Easy to get to and not far from LaCrosse. Kitchen is well stocked with pans and dishes. Had a family of deer come close to the house each day. Check in and checkout were simple. Owner stopped by the first evening to see if we needed anything because there had been a thunderstorm earlier in the day and had knocked out power in the area for awhile. Very good place to rent

Peaceful and just perfect!
Pete is a great host. The Villa was clean, comfortable and perfect for the four of us. We loved the birds, fireflies, wildlife and Caesar the dog. We came on motorcycles and we had one rainy day. The porch was a great place to hang out on for the day. I could go on and on, seriously. We hope to be back next summer. Make your reservation early because this place is a HOT spot! Thanks!!!

Fishing getaway
My wife, father in law, sister in law and I spent a few days at the villa and really enjoyed ourselves. Pete was very helpful with everything from checking in to where to start fishing, he also owns a bar in town that has the best pizza! Relaxing getaway
It was smooth entry, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, clean and well appointed bathrooms. No description of upstairs Murphy bed in info, and single sofa chairs had uncomfortable mattresses. We could relax and enjoy ourselves; great views.

We enjoyed our time at the house and the setup was great for two families with small kids. The house had everything we needed, though a map of the property or hiking trails would have been helpful as we were not sure which direction we could explore. Sticking close the property still gave our kids room to roam, though.
