Enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding verdant headlands and admire the elegant railing and lanterns of this famous boulevard.

Concha Promenade is the central boulevard of San Sebastian, where you’ll find many of the city’s events, ceremonies and activities. With its white balustrade and tall clock towers straddling Concha Beach, the promenade is among the most iconic landmarks in the region. Join joggers and skaters on this lively pedestrian avenue, which is shaped like a horseshoe.

Snap photos of the excellent vista of Concha Bay and Santa Clara Island. To the east is the Urgull Hill promontory, while the western side features the Pico del Loro cliff that separates Ondarreta Beach from Concha Beach. To reach the golden sand of the latter, descend the staircases and sloped walkways of Concha Promenade.

Relax with snacks and refreshments at one of the cafés facing the sea. You can get chocolates and churros from the stalls and stores adorning the boulevard. Surfboards and other watersports equipment are available for rent from a tour operator on the beach. Sit on a bench and watch people go by in this busy part of the Old Town district.

Inspect the white railings, designed by architect Juan Rafael Alday, that flank the full length of the promenade. Gaze up at towers holding up elegant clocks. Among the intriguing architectural features are the bifurcated street lanterns whose shell-like symbols are replicated for the awards at the city’s famous film festival.

Stay for the sunset, when the reddening hues of the sky begin to spread over the bay. Several bars and restaurants offer a busy and entertaining evening setting.

Concha Promenade runs parallel to its namesake beach in the heart of San Sebastian. Get a bus to one of the many stops dotted along the street and traverse the promenade on foot.

Visit other nearby highlights, such as the Good Shepherd of San Sebastian Cathedral, Alderdi Eder park and Plaza Gipuzkoa.
