Relax and retreat on the shores of Wasi Lake in Chisholm, Ontario. The master bedroom has a private balcony overlooking the water. Enjoy the view from the 2 tiered deck that overlooks the waters edge and sandy beach. Cozy up by the woodstove in the evenings or watch the sunset from the comfort of the bunkie. Whether you like fishing in the summer or snowmobiling, ice fishing and skiing in the winter, this cottage has something for every season. Just a short 25 minute drive from North Bay.
The two bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a brand new king bed and the other bedroom has two brand new double beds (2022). Watch the beautiful sunsets from the Bunkie right on the water. (Please note the bunkie is not attached to the house it has electricity but no baseboard heating , you can not place a space heater in the bunkie it will trip the breaker.)
Our space is not suitable for 6 adults.we only allow 6 guests for those with children.
Other things to note:
Enjoy fishing on Wasi Lake where you will find a variety of fish such as walleye, pike, bass and perch. We have two canoes onsite included for you during your stay so you can explore Wasi lake. We also have a stand up paddle board. We have 6 adult lifejackets and two kids. Please bring more lifejackets if necessary.
Vacationer supplies their own linens: Sheets, pillowcases and blankets + Inside towels, kitchen and bathroom towels as well as beach towels.
Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.
Guests will enjoy free wifi and bell tv on a smart tv. On a rainy day sit back and enjoy the lake view while playing a variety of board games and cards which will be provided.
Please remove your shoes inside the cottage and bunkie.
We have a charcoal BBQ please bring your own charcoal. Please bring your own firewood for the fire pit. Return all fire pit chairs into the shed and charcoal BBQ into the shed before you check out.
Those guests staying during the winter months snow tires or all wheel drive is recommended.
We have a high chair and pack and play available if required please let us know.
We have a small hot water tank for our two bedroom cottage (short shower times). We also recommend spacing out showers and dishes for the hot water to come back.
Absolutely no parties allowed. No fireworks. Quiet hours between 10 pm-7am. This is a nice quiet peaceful neighbourhood, please be respectful of our neighbours.
Burning rules: no fires between 6 am -6pm
No burning in winds greater than 15km/ hour.
Please return the canoes upside down on the grass and attach them to the carabiner attached to the tree.

The Neighbourhood
Wasi Lake offers a quaint, rural type get-away for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Being right on the water, you can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or simply layout and catch some sun. There are local walking trails and public beaches around the lake. Motorboats are allowed on the lake. There are walking trails on Wasi Lake located a short 5 minute drive away called Laporte Trails off of river road. Duchesnay Falls is a hiking trail with beautiful scenic views located in North Bay. The Mattawa River Provincial Park is a short 30 minute drive. We always enjoy taking a day trip just about an hour drive to beautiful hiking trails and beaches at Arrowhead Provincial Park and on another day you can visit a variety of hiking trails in Algonquin Park which is about 1 h30 minute away.
In the winter months skiing is 30 mins to Laurentian ski hill and 1 hour to Hidden Valley ski resort. There is no shortage of snowmobile trails in the area either. Specific locations can be provided upon request or in the welcome booklet.
Staying on Wasi lake provides 3 easy options to get what you may need. The town of Astorville is a short 10-minute drive away and has gas, groceries and LCBO. The town of Powassan is 20 minutes away and has all the charm of a small Ontario town, including gas, a mid-size grocery store, hardware store, bank, beer store & LCBO, convenience store and independent restaurants. The city of North Bay is a 25-minute drive and includes everything a large size city has to offer including a large shopping mall, many restaurants and summer activities for the family.
