Home away from Home

This is a wonderful property that was a prefect setting for a friends' get away. It is wonderfully located near downtown in the Lincoln Park area and was close to restaurants and stores. Carole, Basil and Adrian made check in and check out easy and were always just a call away. The space was so inviting we stayed in for dinner on 2 nights and cooked. It was a great trip for us in a memorable setting.

Perfect setting for Chicago fun!

We are a group of friends in town for a wedding. Carole and Basil’s home was the perfect setting for us to gather and have some fun in the city. The home is comfortable, beautifully decorated and well appointed. Communication was proactive and clear and made for an easy weekend. Big Hit for Boys Bears Weekend!!!

We had an amazing stay here! We were 14 guys in our mid-50's in town for a long-weekend capped off by a Bears game. Everyone got their own bed, loved being in the space together, and found the location to be ideal, with tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping nearby. Jogging down to the lake and back - about a 3.0 mile loop was a favorite among the group. No regrets - would love to come back and do it all again. Carole was a delight to deal with.

We stayed here for lollapalooza and we’re pleased with the Vrbo. The location is fantastic and the management team was nice. My group was a bit loud the last night but the management team handled it quite well in being respectful of both my group and the others who complained. I’d recommend this place

My four siblings and their families transcended on Chicago - 12 total - to attend a multi-memorial event. This was a PERFECT place - comfort, size and location - to have the entire family under one roof. Even though we came together for solemn event, the accommodations made it a memorable and joyous occasion as we were able to gather together to remember our aunts and uncle who are now no longer with us

AWESOME Walkable Location!

We loved how walkable the area was and how secure our loft felt. TONS of beds and extras with the trundles underneath. Pictures don’t do the space justice, honestly. Perfect for a low-key bachelorette party (a group of 14). Basil is kind and a quick communicator.

Fantastic experience

Spent the weekend in Chicago to attend a Cubs game and sight see. the property is in a great location with a large meeting area perfect for my group of 10. Hosts we're attentive and responded quickly if needed. property is clean, in a secured building with we felt was a plus. The Magic Factory loft was a great space for our family to gather for our long weekend together exploring Chicago. The open floor plan allowed the 10 of us to enjoy our brief time together. It had everything you could need and it had a beautiful view of the city. The owners were very helpful and helped us feel at home and very safe. The appliances were good quality, the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of bathrooms. The space was perfect for us to stage our adventures out into the city, close to everything, but on a nice quiet street.

Girls weekend

Great spot with easy access. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the loft. It was perfect for the 9 of us, esp the living area and kitchen. The street area and neighborhood were safe and quiet, so we all slept well. The beds were comfy as well! Carole and Basil were great hosts and took the time to explain everything we needed to know abt the area. We Ubered or walked everywhere with no problem. Great access to shopping and eating within a couple blocks. Street parking is very limited but free. Overall a great space and location for a larger group!!!

In Chicago for Taylor Swift

We had a group of 10 in Chicago for the Taylor Swift concert. The loft is really nice and clean. Very spacious. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. It's close to train and bus stops, but also close enough to popular spots that the cost of an Uber was reasonable, especially for a group our size. The owners were flexible with our check-in and check-out times, they even held our bags after check-out so we could continue to explore the city before our train out of town. Even before arriving, they sent an email with instructions, that also included helpful information about what restaurants and stores were close by. All in all, it was a good experience.

Grandmother's Memory Maker

Fantastic, WONDERFUL!! Our Magic Factory Loft was spacious, comfortable, & clean. The owners provided many extras & excellent, detailed suggestions for locations of necessities, restaurants, & transportation. Everything within 2 blocks & safe neighborhood. We enjoyed all the restaurant suggestions. We used only public transportation except for uber to & from the airport. I brought 2 daughters & 7 grandchildren ages 7-18 years. We've made memories & will have dreams for years to come❤ My special gratitude to Carole & her staff for such gracious hospitality 🤗

perfect girls getaway home base!

went with a group of 7. PLENTY of room-- space to hang out, ample bathrooms, everyone got their own bed. the apartment is well stocked & Carole is very easy to reach if you need anything-- for example, we wanted more blankets & she was ON IT. sleek, modern furnishings. as of May 2016, it's a walk up (elevator is being installed in a few months) & no window coverings in the living room. super close to a small mall that has affordable & accessible restaurants (we had some pretty serious food restrictions in our group & everyone found something good!)-- LYFE Kitchen, Yard House. Bowling alley, but we never went. movie theater nearby, too. Mainstream grocery store (forget the name!) & gourmet grocery nearby. Other charming local places are walkable (Old Town & Armitage). 2.5 miles straight down Halstead to Boystown- bus stops right in front of the house! easy walk to the El. 15-20 minutes to downtown. We had a car & never used it! Buy an unlimited Ventra pass & explore the city on mass transit I ran by myself & felt perfectly safe in the neighborhood. tip: it's a 3.5 mile round trip to Lincoln Park :)

Spacious Apartment & Free Parking!

Our corporate sales team enjoyed using 3 of the 4 bedrooms with lockable doors and private bathrooms while in Chicago for a trade show. The cost for three people was about one third of what the hotels were charging! It was clean, comfortable and very convenient.
