Beautiful views and stunning home

This was an amazing place to stay. Not too far of a drive from many different activities and a beautiful home. Be warned it is up on a hill so winter stays are more precarious - we ended up leaving a day early out of an abundance of caution due to a large winter storm system moving in.

Perfect!

This is a perfect house for a quiet and peaceful getaway! The view was amazing, particularly at night in front of the fire pit. It was an easy short drive to Harper’s Ferry and to great hiking and wineries. We came just the two of us but are already hoping to return with friends.

Perfect Fall Family Getaway

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. Our kids loved the games and bunk beds and everyone enjoyed the spectacular views from the fire pit. The perfect family stay for watching the seasons change. Excellent communication from our hosts - would love to come back.

This house is in a fairly remote setting, which we enjoyed. The view of the river is one of the best features. Enjoy the sounds and sights of the river and the wildlife at this spacious home away from home. Check in and out is simple and communication is stellar.

Moms Getaway Weekend

We had a great stay at Terra Alta. Everything was super clean upon arrival, communication through Mountain Mama was fantastic and very helpful. The views from the house are amazing. We visited the local wineries and breweries, and then ended each night in the hot tub. Would absolutely recommend Terra Alta and any property manager by Mountain Mama in the future.

Beautiful River vacay

We wanted a comfortable place to do some local sight seeing with families if kids aged from 0-18. This house has games for the olders and pack and plays for the youngers. The hike to the river was not as difficult as advertised and provided a place to discover and swim.

We had the best time!

It was a beautiful home with comfy beds and a serene landscape. We loved the selection of board games for our kids and the hot tub. Every morning we saw deer on the way to town, we also saw turkey and groundhogs! Communication was perfect and homeowner was accommodating! Would highly recommend.

Spacious tranquility with a view

Amazing river view from house and hot tub. Lives up to pictures and description. Well stocked with towels, coffee etc. All four of us would visit again. Lots of hiking and history in area. Need a vehicle with some clearance for the road. Very spacious with a nice layout. Try Plantosaurus vegan restaurant in Charles Town!

Beautiful location! Beautiful views!

Very very nice house. Hot tub was lots of fun! Comfortable beds. Extra towels for hot tub were very touch. Living room upstairs and down stairs were used often. Suggestions: would recommend adding screens to windows on lower floor. Additionally listing said coffee was provided but their wasn’t enough so we had to run out to buy. Also no olive oil or vegetable oil, garlic, etc. Would come back!

Great Stay, Disappointing Management

We enjoyed our stay, however I've sent 4 messages to the management before and after our stay with no reply. There was a gas/oil smell in the home that made someone in our group feel lightheaded. The property itself is great. Don't plan on making the "beach" an important part of your visit. It is a difficult walk as mentioned, but there is also broken glass all over the place which is a shame. The views from the home are great. Everything else was OK, just disappointed by the lack of communication and customer service.

Underwhelming

The “natural” landscape seems like an excuse not to pay someone to take care of yard. Looks unkept and not welcoming. May want to remark the trail to the river. Only saw one pink ribbon on a branch on the ground. Indoor furnishings are very outdated however the beds were comfortable. Only one tv in the dark/dingy basement. Bathroom had mold in the shower. The deck was the best part and where we spent most of our time when we were there. Harpers Ferry itself was fun. House was overpriced. Needs some TLC or drop the price

Nice place, great communication with owners

We came to stay in the Harpers Ferry area to celebrate a milestone family birthday. The owners sent us very detailed instructions regarding everything you could need to know about the house before check in. Everything was pretty clean ( a few cobwebs here and there but no spiders inside that we saw) the beds were comfortable, and the views were amazing. We noticed the HVAC was not working when we arrived but luckily the weather was mild. The owners were very responsive and helpful when a HVAC tech could not be reached to fix it. They brought us a window unit and fans and we were very comfortable for the rest of our stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We wish the basement bathroom sink was a little bigger and that there was a mirror in that bathroom. It was so convenient that the kitchen was fully stocked with plates, utensils, dawn, dish washing tabs etc. Thank you for hosting us for a beautiful family weekend where lots of memories were made!
