When you have a few hours to spare while in Annecy, the Centre Commercial Courier is a fantastic place to spend them. Shop for clothes for yourself or presents to bring back from your vacation. Stop for a coffee or a bite to eat at one of the on-site restaurants or cafés. Most of all, enjoy the unusual feeling of being outdoors while indoors, which is created by the fact the shopping mall is designed in the style of a street with glass over the top of it.
The mall is hard to miss, taking up more area than most of the other buildings in Annecy’s scenic heart. The structure is home to well over 100 retail stores and places to eat and drink. Expect affordable big-name brands such as H&M, Zara, Levi’s, The Body Shop and Sephora, in addition to French chains such as Aubade Paris. Enjoy the experience of shopping in this light, bright and airy setting.
Make sure you take advantage of the mall’s fantastic location in the very center of Annecy. Have lunch in one of the mall’s cafés, or find a great place to eat in the picturesque and charmingly old-fashioned streets that surround the mall. Alternatively, buy a pastry at one of the bakeries housed in the Centre Commercial Courier and head toward the banks of the stunning Lake Annecy to savor your treat outdoors. The beautiful lake is the focal point of the town and is located just a few minutes’ walk to the east of the mall.
When you have finished shopping, stop by some of the other interesting places near the mall. Visit gorgeous churches such as the Church of St. Maurice and the Church of Notre-Dame-de-Liesse, both found just a short walk to the south. Walk further south still and reach the historic and fascinating Annecy Castle, which houses a wonderful museum.
Note that the Centre Commercial Courier is closed on Sundays. However, it is open every other day from early in the morning until well into the evening. Reach the center by bus or drive and use the underground parking lot the first 30 minutes is free.
