We Loved Our Stay!
We loved the lodging and location! Sitting out on the balcony gave us a picturesque view of a small marina, the stretch of water leading to the bay, and an active Osprey nest about a hundred yards away. Would rent this apartment again with no hesitation! Very clean and comfortable. My wife and I are a bit tech challenged, and it would have been helpful if written instructions were available for using the TV. Also the 3-panel glass doors to the balcony were a bit of a challenge to align, but management was very responsive to address these issues when we called them the next day. The dishwasher door needed better retention springs, but was manageable. (Not reported.) Other than these few minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed this VRBO apartment along with walking, biking, a boat ride to Useppa, and shell-collecting on the beach. A spectacular sunset too! We also enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at the Green Flash! We cannot wait to return again to the South Seas Resort!

Run down, smelly
I happened to see the most recent review before we left on trip, two month prior, which mentioned outdated and odor. We arrived and as we entered could smell what seemed like dead fish. As the week went on it never went away and always most noticeable when we entered. Nothing to do with low tide either, it smelled all the time. I believe it was the carpet in the bedroom, perhaps. The refrigerator door was totally askew??? and leaving a large gap on the door seal, so the condensation of water on the roof of the fridge was constantly dripping onto our food! Dream vacations responded with in a few hours, sent out a maintenance guy who was nice, but said, this unit definitely needs updating and the refrigerator he was able to figure was 19 years old. The place was cleaned as good as it could be, except the mold on the ceiling by the patio window, very noticeable. The maintenance guy wiped it off the ceiling. I asked Dream Vacations for some kind of satisfaction, or another unit. The exact response I received was “Each unit varies and is priced as such. We do not require everything to be updated, but do expect all to be in good order, clean and functioning as perfect as possible. Any issues, we will get on top of it right away to rectify as best as we can. Again our apologies and we’ll take a look shortly.” The only thing that was done for us was a maintenance guy came out, said a new fridge needs to be replaced, wiped off mold by stepping on furniture with shoes on. In the next 7 days of our stay, not even a follow up from Dream Vacations. If you book this place bring scented wall plugs ins, because you can’t buy any anywhere on the island.

Stayed for a few days over Christmas. Location is great. Captiva can be very busy and it was nice to be able to walk everywhere. Had a day fishing excursion and was able to have the boat pick us up at the dock behind condo. Had a few questions and they were all answered quickly via text. Condo was a bit outdated but the location is worth it

Easy booking and checking. Unit maintenance: shower tub was not draining properly. Room carpet was washed on the morning the day we arrived. It was wet until the next day and made it very slippery when going to the hard floors.

Cheaper and nicer than the resort owned property in the same building
We found some trash behind the furniture and an abandoned drywall repair attempt in the bathroom but overall the rental was nice. Our unit was much better decorated and updated than another resort owned property in the same building. The VRBO rental was about $100 p/night cheaper.

Dated furnishings, no mattress cover. Fridge door did not close all the way. No wine opener, Front door knob is a little loose. Showers needs update.
