Graduation celebration trip.
We were celebrating my daughter's high school graduation. We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It was a well equipped unit. We appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. We also loved the screened in lanai, and the view was wonderful. Great location for getting to the beach, pool, or Captiva Village.

NO ELEVATOR & MANY STAIRS TO CLIMB!
This building DOES NOT HAVE AN ELEVATOR to this second floor condo which we did not think would be a problem for us. However, there are 15 stairs to the first floor level and another 15 stairs to the second floor level. Upon our arrival, climbing and pulling a 50 lb suitcase up those 30 stairs was not easy! In addition, we did not realize that the master bedroom was on the condo's loft level which meant we had to climb an additional 13 stairs to that level. Traveling up and down those 43 stairs several times a day took its toll on both of us who are senior citizens and not in the best of health! We finally decided to cut our vacation short by one day due to our exhaustion and went home to recuperate.

Outstanding vacation accomidations
We brought our daughter and two grandsons to the beach for a five day Thanksgiving holiday getaway. We found the unit comfortable in every way and perfect for an easy, easy beach access. The condo photographs and description provided are 100% accurate. The unit is in excellent, well-cared for condition and fully stocked with quality cookware, dishes, and beach supplies. If you plan to do any cooking in the unit, strongly advise your first stop after the airport is the grocery store. Be sure to pick up salt and pepper, as that is not supplied. The Publix store location provided in the registration material is the best location. Not having access to the Plantation Resort bus service, their beach chairs area, or registration desk personnel was of absolutely no consequence. We found dealing with Glenn to be prompt and clear. We did not feel compromised in any way by not booking through the resort system. Two very minor negative observations. We picked up our unit keys late Saturday afternoon at the designated REMAX office. The envelope did not contain a map or detailed directions on how to find our specific unit. We tried to ask at the resort information desk, but the long and slow-moving line was discouraging. The supplies in the welcome/starter basket were sparse. A dishwasher detergent pod and a trash bag for each day of our five-day stay are a reasonable expectation.

A Slice of Heaven on Captiva Island
The check-in process was easy and the office for the key pick up located in Sanibel was on our way to the villa. The staff was friendly and informative. The condo was clean and exactly as advertised. The second-floor unit allows for a beautiful view of the Gulf and perfect to enjoy the sunsets as well. The screened lanai was a favorite spot for end of day snacks and drinks!! The beach supplies were perfect. Love the Tommy Bahama chairs ... super comfortable and the umbrellas are also a much-needed beach accessory for the strong Florida sun. The Beach Villas are situated at the entrance end of the resort which allows for a short walk to the restaurants and shops. Doc Fords is an easy walk and food was consistently delicious. The unit is supplied with 8 bath towels, a few hand towels and washcloths, and 4 beach towels. In my opinion, if the unit sleeps 8 there should be 8 beach towels. As a guest, I would recommend picking up a few rolls of toilet paper, an extra roll of paper towels and some dishwasher detergent. The maintenance company only supplied 1 of each. If you plan to do some laundry while staying, the washer is $2.25 a load and the dryer is $2 a load, don't forget to bring some quarters and detergent. The unfortunate part of the vacation has nothing to do with the villa ... red tide has been a natural occurrence that has plagued the gulf coast. The water conditions were mixed throughout the week. We had a few days of terrible conditions and then mixed in the week we had a day or two that the water was much clearer. Can't wait for the red tide to go away so we can return to this villa for another vacation.

Lack of communication from property owner
On several occasions I emailed Glenn regarding my concerns of the red tide. Both times he ignored my emails and would not address the subject. I felt like I was dealing with a child. The facility was nice although the red tide was present through our entire trip. I tried to get a refund a month prior and my request was not even addressed. I was told the red tide seemed to be getting better but we were unable to go to the beach our entire week due to the smell, visible red water, and dead fish/crab. I was also ignored again when I addressed the subject after being down there. I would recommend the complex but do yourself a favor and rent from a different owner. I would also do much research before booking and make sure the red tide is gone. It was not our typical beach vacation and because of that I’m not sure if we will ever look to go back.

Girls Beach Weekend
We loved our stay at the Captiva Beach Villa. The condo was in great condition when we arrived. It was very clean and stocked with the basic necessities. Picking up the keys was a bit confusing, so I recommend calling ahead of time to find out where you need to go. They held them at the Sanibel Remax office and we picked them up at 4:45. The condo felt spacious even with 8 girls. The pull out couch upstairs is uncomfortable but we brought a foam topper and it worked out great, Highly recommend if you are going to be using it for sleeping. All in all we would definitely stay again.

An excellent condo, however Remax should do better
Hi Glen, We had a great week as usual. However, there are several small things, all due to Remax. No dish towels, dish cloths, pot scrubber. Although dishes went through the dish washer before we arrived they were not clean. No non-slip rubber mat in the showers (very dangerous). No salt-pepper. Lower bedroom cupboard full and only 4 hangers. Only one dishwasher soap cube. Tissue, toilet paper, soap cheapest available. None of these are critical by themselves, but put them together and the result is - Remax are not living up to thee standard set by Royal Shel last year.

Winter getaway
we very much enjoyed our stay. The villa furnishings and beds were quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai and looking out at the palm trees and ocean. The short walk to the beach made it very easy to come and go throughout the day. While we could enjoy the sunset from the lanai, we mostly walked down to the beach to take it in. Our first night the sunset was amazing and we saw several dolphins feeding. We rented a golf cart (Yolo) during my grandson's visit and had fun driving around the island. Didn't really need it with the restaurants all being so close. Had many visits to Doc Ford's. Would say our favorite was the key lime bistro. we were fortunate to be able to spend three weeks and enjoyed it very much!

Captiva Beach Villa
The property was well-kept and clean. The condo was the perfect size for the 5 of us ladies. The kitchen was well-appointed with plenty of dishes, utensils, and up-to-date appliances including a new Keurig, as well as a regular coffee-maker! It was also very quiet. We never heard our neighbors except when they were on their balconies nearby. Very good restaurants were near-by as well as a small grocery and shops. Beach chairs and towels were provided as well as two beach umbrellas. The only problem we had was with the in-room safe - apparently the previous guests had closed and locked it with their own combination and we were not able to use it. That being said, we never really needed to use it. Thank you for a great vacation!

The property was better than expected.
We rented this property to relax and enjoy some uninterrupted quality time with our children and grandchildren. Happily our goal was achieved thanks to the ambience of this wonderful beachfront villa. Upon entering the unit for the first time we were pleased to discover it to be clean, well equipped, and welcoming. Walking straight through the apartment led us to the balcony which provided a panoramic view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The furnished appliances, cookware, utensils, dishes etc. were top quality and appeared to be new. The beach chairs, beach umbrellas and beach towels were also first class. The walk to the beach is easy and brief. I should mention that access to the unit requires climbing up two flights of stairs. This, however, proved to be a minor inconvenience in exchange for being located on the top floor of the building, the tremendous view, and the additional room provided by having a loft which provided the space needed to accommodate the eight of us. There is also storage available on the ground floor for the beach equipment so carrying this equipment up the stairs every day is not necessary. We used the trunk of our car for this. FYI The gas grill is located across the street in the pool area and the laundry is on the first floor and the machines are coin operated. The time we spent on Captiva Island will be a wonderful memory for our family and the homey atmosphere of this property is a major reason why.

Great location on Captiva!
We had a great second visit to this villa. We had some minor hiccups with the dishwasher and housekeeping supplies but all were addressed within a day. The villa works really well for our family of 5, easy access to the beach, two pools and tennis courts. We cooked most nights and found the kitchen to be totally functional. We would definitely come back again!!
