House is beautiful. It is historic and there is more than enough space, towels and linens. Kitchen is functional with updated appliances, cleaning materials and supplies. The host was most polite and communicative prior to the stay, and I appreciated her area recommendations.
Things we did not like: Do not rent this property if you want to pay a $150 cleaning fee for three nights ($250 for two) and then get charged an additional $95 fee for not VACUUMING the carpets and MOPPING the floors (this is a 3 level house with 3 bedrooms/a great room!). Beds are expected to be made, with linens grouped and towels grouped together (ok, fine). Garbage must be taken out and sorted. We wiped down all surfaces, made the beds, sorted the linens and put dirty towels in the laundry room. What is the original cleaning fee for?
No where on the page does it say "No Bachelorette Parties," yet that is apparently an issue, even though we left it tidy (granted we did not mop or vacuum, but still). It says "parties and events allowed." I also communicated that this was a girls weekend. There were no further questions related to what type of weekend it was.
There was a rotting onion in a kitchen drawer, dirty storage containers (looked like there were bagels of some sort prior), and the refrigerator was 54 degrees (too warm for a fridge) upon arrival.
The property itself is lovely and quaint, however, the communication post check out should have been communicated PRIOR to accepting us as renters.
