The hotels in the perfect location right on the beach! What an amazing staff, too!! Popcorn and cookies in the lobby each afternoon are a hit. They had robes for use to go to the pool and hot tub. They also set up bonfires on the beach. Such a great place!!!

Staff was very friendly, the rooms and property was very clean, I had views of haystack rock from my balcony, and the amenities were great! I will definitely come back here. They do have a bus that goes back-and-forth through the little downtown area, or you can just take a walk on the beach there and it’s only a 10 to 15 minute walk. Very lovely little place.

This was our first time staying in Cannon Beach as a family, despite being PNW natives. I wanted a new experience and remembered enjoying Cannon Beach as a kid, plus we wanted a room right on the ocean and a nicer hotel than some of the popular beaches offer. This did not disappoint! The hotel is nicely renovated, the staff are wonderful, polite, attentive and professional. Our room was very clean despite being one of the King patio rooms (easy to track sand into), and every thing in the room worked as it should. I had doubts about the pull-out couch since they're rarely comfy or desirable, but our kids slept great with no complaints. The pool is decent enough to entertain kids for a few hours after a day on the beach and walking in town, and my husband I loved being able to sit in the green space outside our room with a drink at sunset. The only improvement I can think of is the adjoining restaurant, the Wayfarer. While we loved there was a room service option, the dinner menu didn't have anything for kids and no casual option like a burger or appetizer. The lunch menu has items that would have been great at 9 pm. We didn't try the breakfast, but should have because 2 of the three nearby coffee shops were closed and the other was wiped out of food - just an FYI if you have kids needing a quick bite before heading out for the day. All that said, we will absolutely stay here again and can't wait for another trip! The Surfsand is a gem!

I have been to this hotel multiple times and usually love it. I still recommend it, but this visit had some issues. First off, I did not get a room key until 5pm. The hotel was completely booked and just swamped. This happens. But for the price and a four star hotel, I expect more. The VIP benefit is two drinks at check in — this is offered to everyone and is not really a VIP benefit. Second, the rooms are called ocean view but are really partial ocean view. You have to really be careful what room you choose if you want a full ocean view (it did feel like Expedia customers are the last to get the good rooms). We had a room on the bottom floor of a side building - so partial view for the upper floors and really blocked view on the bottom floor (which I believe is the same cost as the upper floors). If you want to see the ocean, you have to stand by the window. And people walk by the windows and can see in, so you basically have to keep the shades down. Not great for the ocean view. Because the hotel was packed, things like towels for the beach were not replenished. In addition, the dishes provided in the room were dirty. Also, I needed an iron - it took two calls to the front desk to get it (as not provided in the room), and the iron had melted crayon on it which got on my garment. Again, for a four star hotel, I expect more. In the past, I have loved this hotel. Just overcrowded this time. The beach access is great and mostly wonderful room. But pricey and not four star.
