Good -building, location, breakfast.
Bad - unprofessional, tried to overcharge, cold room
1. My checkin was shambolic. Despite booking some months before on Expedia and showing the docs, receptionist asserted amount was wrong and tried to charge me an extra c.£100 for the 3 nights, presenting me with card reader with increase. When I protested she reluctantly agreed to revert to the booked rate but insisting Expedia had got it wrong and that she would have to claim the balance from them. As I explained, this was not my concern - I had an agreed accepted booking and price. If incorrect they should have checked their listing on expedia (they had over 3 months and had clearly never done so), not try to change the terms when the guest arrives. Then she insisted parking was £10 a day, despite the booking saying clearly 'Parking included' and 'Free self parking on site'. On being shown this (and asking for a copy to be emailed! ) she with bad grace 'agreed' not to charge me while again saying she would take it up with Expedia and that 'next time' I 'would have to pay'. (I can tell you for sure there will not be a next time)
There was no apology for trying to overcharge me. I left reception feeling upset and stressed by this 'welcome' & the implication I was somehow cheating them.
2. Room was COLD with NO HEATING (end sept) as they don't put on CH until October. Had to ask for an electric heater and only got one 18 hours later but only after a second request
