Served a purpose!
We passed through & didn't have breakfast. Basic all round - free parking across the main cross roads & bridge in port area though I only found out later after paying for a nearby Q Park in shopping centre. Have to check in if arriving later at hotel across road. Street level can be noisy. Room had 3 separate beds but wardrobe contained shelves rather than hanging rack. Tap dripping. Some decent places to eat near aquarium. Should only pay a basic price.

It was the cheapest hotel in Bolougne Sur Mer so went with the attitude that it was just a bed for the night. It was absolutely fine though - the room was very clean so nothing really to moan about in that sense. Our only gripe re the room was that it was very warm, there's no air-con and with the blackout blinds, it makes the opening of windows, pretty inefficient. There was never any staff at the hotel though, had to check in over the road and despite being told that someone would be there in the morning to check us out, no one to be seen, so had to traipse over the road again.

You can’t expect more from a two star hotel. It looks a bit shabby from the outside but it is perfectly comfortable and spotless inside. Reception is in the hotel opposite and the staff there are very friendly and professional. We certainly will use this hotel again.

Once a pleasant family-run hotel this now appears to be no more than an annex to the Bar Hamiot across the road (where you have to check in and out). Our room was small and sparsely furnished. The shower needed some attention and there were only 2 coat hangers in the hanging space. Having said all that, the room was clean and warm and had recently been refurbished. The staff in the Bar Hamiot were friendly and welcoming and there is private underground parking (at a modest additional cost) just round the corner.

Great Weekend
Great position in the town, offered a good car parking facility and the food in their restaurant offered a very good selection of meals.

Avoid at all costs!
Having driven down through France stopping in Angouleme and Zaragoza on the way down , then having twelve days on the Costa Blanca, we came back via Zaragoza (Fantastic), Pau, Caen for two nights with a final stop in Boulogne prior to an 8am crossing with Eurotunnel. What a mistake! I thought that these type of places no longer existed. No-one on reception-you had to book in at the bar/restaurant across the street. The room was poorly furnished and although clean, it looked sad and tired. The windows had two huge blobs of seagull droppings that had obviously been there for some considerable time, no curtains on the window (there was a retractable blind). The bathroom was tiny as was the bath and although there was a shower attachment the bracket on the wall was missing! It gave you the impression of a place the local council would use to house homeless people/refugees. Book only if desperate. Would not go back there if they offered me a free room.

We have been to this hotel many times but will never again. No reception, no atmosphere, no bar, came down for breakfast and saw a sign saying self serve breakfast but no food. A real shame as it used to be lovely.

Hotel Faidherbe
We stayed there for a one night. Room was not modern but clean. We would stop there again. Advise for them who wants to spend their holiday in the room - look for different hotel otherwise you will be disappointed and will moan and this hotel has not deserved moaners feedback.

Disappointing
Stayed here about 20 years ago, not the same. No reception now, needed to book in via hotel over the road. Check in time was not until 5pm which is rather late. Although very clean, is in need of an update. Rooms very small, back lounge not in use, so for breakfast we were all crammed into the front reception area of hotel., breakfast was fine though as expected.

The room was clean and bathroom in good condition. But we had to check in at a different hotel across a busy road, and there was no staff at all in our hotel. Also the hotel charged me for the room and breakfast even though I had prepaid the room through Hotels.com. It was quite hard to find reception staff to check out of the room and to settle our breakfast bill. It was all a bit strange. On the positive side it was easy to walk to the fortified town for dinner and the interesting fish market was close. Parking was a bit of a scrum.

One night stay
Stayed for one night. Very tired hotel. Never took breakfast as it was fairly expensive for what it was. Is situated less than 100mtrs from a Disco/Nightclub and we were woken by rowdy groups in the early hours.

We arrived and they didn't have are booking on their system. Staff were friendly and done everything to get it sorted within a few minutes. The room was OK but there were no curtains only a net, which wasn't ideal for the next morning! Overall we had a comfortable stay but we wouldn't stay there again.
