A year before the eclipse I started looking for a cabin to rent somewhere near Broken Bow (we have stayed in the area twice before). Admittedly, Chipmunk Cottage wouldn't have been my first choice but with vacancies filling up fast I decided to give it a go. Boy am I ever glad I did. Billy is a terrific host. He was so helpful, answering all my questions before arrival, giving us great advice on places to eat and he checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Such a sweet man! He even had farm fresh eggs available and taught me about cleaning them (they were yummy). The cabin is small and cozy but has the basics you need in a home away from home. The bed was super comfortable, so we got some much-needed rest here. I wasn't expecting WiFi or cell service and packed for such, but WiFi was provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub nearly every day for the 8 days we stayed. Robes are provided and they were much appreciated. Previous reviews commented that the highway detracted from the feeling of isolation, but we appreciated the accessibility of not having to navigate dirt, gravel or mud roads to get to the cabin. It is north of Hochatown and we liked the location, in that it's not in the middle of the touristy area but close enough to enjoy it when we wanted. Billy has several cabins at this location and we would love to come back and try another of them sometime!
