We really enjoyed our stay in the Beaune apartment. You can’t pull up to the entrance, but there is a large day lot nearby, and you walk a block, including some stairs, to get to the entrance. It is on the old city wall, literally! There is a basement 2 floors down that looks like an old vault-I think the owner uses it for wine tasting. Just fascinating! Anyway, there are a lot of pedestrians going by as they take the walk along the city wall. (It’s an easy, enjoyable walk). We kept the shades closed often because people could look in, but that didn’t bother us too much.
The unit was comfortable. We were glad to have a/c. There is a washer and dryer as well, accessed by another door just outside of the main unit. There is only one toilet, on the main floor, but showers in both bedrooms. My husband and I opted to stay downstairs, giving our teen some much needed space upstairs. There was a “handbook” with instructions for the appliances, helpful local information and emergency services.
I especially enjoyed the deck. I popped out in the morning, a short walk, to get pastries, and brewed coffee in the apartment. There is a small grocery store within walking distance as well.
Many good restaurants nearby at all price ranges. If you enjoy shopping, Beaune has many boutiques nearby. The market on Saturday is huge. We would have liked more time to enjoy that.
Benjamin showed us options for parking, including a free option along the footpath near the main ring road. I know there are garages as well. The only time we used the car was to visit a winery. It was about a 7 minute walk from one side of the town center to the other.
If we came to Beaune again I would look here first. Reasonably priced, close to many things and a comfortable space.
