Lakefront Glamping- "Acadia" a Chic Vintage Airstream with a Fabulous View

Glamping Downeast- Relax after exploring in our Chic Vintage Airstream "Acadia" located in the heart of Downeast Maine. With 3 beds, kitchen facilities, and a deck with a fabulous view, it’s perfect for couples or families. Deep in the woods, you will feel like you are a million miles away yet we are only 15 minutes from civilization; conveniently located just 10 miles from historic Ellsworth (the gateway to Acadia) and another 18 miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Here are some things that you might find important.

- The View - Acadia's deck offers a fantastic view of the Lake and the woods. And on a clear day you can see Cadillac Mountain from the lake's edge.

- The Bathroom - Acadia has a bathroom with hot water and a real flush toilet. And the enclosed (private) outdoor shower is nestled under the tent's awning.

-The Location - We are close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor yet far enough away to avoid the crowds, traffic, and noise. Our Glamping Camps are deep in the woods on our seven acre private property, not in a campground or "Glamping Resort." We also have a Tiny House A-Frame Cabin and a luxury Glamping Tent on the property.

Some other things to note:

Acadia features a Queen bed with crisp, clean sheets, and cozy duvets. It also features a twin bed and a sofa that converts to a queen. Perfect for three adults or families.

Acadia has a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker (with an assortment of K-cups) so you can enjoy coffee in the morning and cold drinks in the evening on the deck without having to leave the Airstream.

The outdoor kitchen, which is on Acadia's deck, features a gas grill, a stovetop, refrigerator, and a microwave. We provide basic pots, pans and cooking utensils and plates, cups, and eating utensils. The outdoor kitchen's refrigerator is stocked with condiments and essentials and the ingredients for S'Mores.

The campfire ring with comfortable Adirondack chairs is in a common area. There is no need to bring or buy firewood, we have lots.

The road in to our property is a half mile camp road that takes you deep into the woods. No traffic, no noise, just seclusion, quiet, trees, and the beautiful lake.

Please note that the Airstream is about 125 feet down a gravel path from the parking area (and just steps from the edge of the lake) so you cannot park right next to the tent. We have a luggage cart/wagon available if needed.

We do not allow animals of any kind. It is a safety issue. There is a risk of an extreme interaction with wildlife in the area (particularly with dogs).

***Glamping Downeast is in Maine's great outdoors so be prepared to accept the inherent risk of your adventure including wildlife, insects, and unpredictable conditions (we can’t control weather). Come with an adventurous and open mind, and some bug spray.

In town for a concert
Chose glamping as a fun alternative to a hotel when in town for a concert. My daughter and her friends loved it (they are campers so en suite bathroom with screen did not bother them). Tent beds were so clean and comfy! We had rain, but cooked a big brunch in the outdoor kitchen. Hosts were wonderful and we had a great time! Would highly recommend!

Amazing Stay!
We loved this property. It is far enough from town to feel secluded but close enough to visit Acadia, Bar Harbor, and other local attractions. Great location and the tent was perfect for a long weekend getaway. Lee and Peg were excellent hosts as well.

Glamping done right!!
We had the best stay at this property. The tent had everything you could need and the view was priceless. My children had the best time “exploring” the area. Lee even gave us fishing poles to use. The kitchen area was so convenient for preparing meals and the fire pit and s’mores were enjoyed by all of us. Literally cannot say enough good things about our stay. We had the best time!

We decided a last minute visit to the Acadia National Park and fortunately found Lee & Peg Glamping site. The site is easy to reach and upon arrive Lee explained all was needed to manage the tent . Also gave us great info of the area and the Acadia National Park. The kids had a blast and the view from the Tent is spectacular right on the lake . Was a great experience that we will most likely repeat . Thanks Lee & Peg

Idyllic glamping
Our stay was amazing and we could not have asked for a better view and setting. The tent space was outstanding and we could not have enjoyed sitting out on the deck more. We really enjoyed staying there and enjoying being in such a natural setting.

Lovely view
I really enjoyed staying at this tranquil spot on the lake. The view was lovely and for camping, the amenities were great. It is NOT high-end glamping with custom finishes and expensive conveniences. What it is is a great way to enjoy the outdoors without sleeping on the ground or forgoing electricity and hot water. I was particularly happy to have a mini fridge in the tent to keep drinks cold. The camp host was very nice - accessible without being obtrusive. Overall, a lovely experience and a nice jumping off point to explore coastal Maine.

Glamping in Maine
I wish I could find all the words to describe how amazing our stay here was, but I will try to keep this short. The tent used for this glamping experience was extremely well built and meticulously thought out by the hosts. The bed was comfortable, views absolutely stunning, and the amenities for a “camp” above expectations. The amenities were everything you wish you had access to during a normal camping trip - small kitchenette, fire pit, actual toilet, and a real bed. The host Lee was one of the kindest people we have met traveling. He made the experience just that much better.

We loved our first experience glamping! Everything was clean and comfortable. During the night the only sound we heard was the frogs calling across the bog. Heavenly!
