"Have stayed in a number of Mons hotels whilst i vacated my apartment in the town. This included 2 stays at the van der valk during October 2024. This time in room 103 for a week, nice big clean room, shower only. Very convenient for getting to my apartment and into the centre of town. Didn't use parking or breakfast. IKEA is 10 mins walk away and do a hot breakfast for a few euros. Also 10 mins walk to cafes etc. Van der Valk is easily best hotel in Mons, happy to recommend "

"I stayed there with my family (two kids). It was very clean and comfortable. There were also a lot of toys and games (Super Nintendo etc.) which was very nice and practical. There was also a park nearby and you have a little garden in front of the apartment. It's a quiet and safe space. The host was very nice. I would recommend the accommodation."

"I'm vacating my apartment in mons so have been staying at a number of local hotels. Stayed in room 113 for a week. My only negative is no aircon which would be a nightmare in the summer, they do supply a big noisy fan. Perhaps B&B who are new owners will install aircon? Other than that it was an excellent stay, free coffee downstairs 24/7 and a room with a bath. We didn't bother with breakfast as plenty of shops/cafes in Mons. Very comfortable bed, i slept very well. Would recommend the B&B...

"The room for a family of 4 was adequate for a one night stay. Beds were comfortable and cleanliness was fine. Arriving on a Saturday afternoon to find the hotel was closed and we had to let ourselves in. Restaurant was also closed and the area did not have anything close by....we eventually ate at a place that was 6km away. Functional if you just want a rest stop."

"Once you understand that this is a rustic classical hotel with an Old Farmhouse feel you can relax and enjoy the experience , a modern trendy place this is not. It does have a fridge and kettle in the room , the hot water in the bathroom takes an age to arrive but is fine once it does. As mentioned in other reviews the floorboards creak and it was nessesary to leave the wardrobe door ajar to prevent it creaking when someone passes the room . Its rustic and charming in its own way. "Just needed to stop for sleep on a long cross countries drive - you can’t beat the price, i wasn’t expecting much but i had an amazing nights sleep. other reviews are correct in saying the outside of the building is crappy but the rooms themselves are perfectly clean and have everything you need - shower, bathroom, TV, comfy bed etc. Safe area, very friendly staff, would stop here again. "Lovely old building with pleasant grounds but the unit lacked a great deal. Firstly, no air conditioning on a 34 degree day is a huge problem for anyone. We had to ask for a fan and leave windows on ground floor open all night in order to get some kind of sleep. NOT IDEAL for safety.
