We always book an extra night before we arrive in Amsterdam because our flight arrives really early in the morning from Canada, so we want to make sure that when we land we can go straight into a room that is waiting for us instead of waiting for check in at 3 or 4 pm. I always call ahead of time and inform the hotel we will be checking in late so not to mark us as a no show as I did this time as well. Except this time they thought they could make some extra money by giving our already paid for room to someone else before we show up. Lo and behold when we arrived at the hotel our room was not available. Not only did they give our paid for room away but they also didn't seem to care whatsoever about the inconvenience that presented us with. Tired from a full night of flying (and being awake) the last thing we want to do is wait for a room that was supposed to be waiting for us already and arguing with hotel staff as to why it is not ok. Very disappointed in the customer service on this.
