Absolutely beautiful place to stay!
This was the perfect, cozy cabin for a weekend getaway! It's the perfect balance between privacy in the mountains and not being too far from surrounding little towns! The views were unforgettable. The house was clean and roomy. We couldn't have asked for better weekend in CO!

Good base camp. We enjoyed hiking and exploring Alma, after a long hike it was nice to come back to a house to clean up and relax. It could use some little upgrades though, like a bench in the entryway to sit while taking/putting on shoes. Replacement of lightbulbs in various rooms, once the sun goes down the house is pretty dark. If you're going to cook make sure you bring your spices, oil, foil, etc. Like I said a good base camp with beautiful scenery.

Mountain Hide Away
The house was very nice and up high in the mountains. We saw deer and it was close to towns for shopping or tails for walking. Also close to mountain passes to drive and see more wild life. Kitchen was equiped to cook if you don't want to eat out.

Beautiful location
The kitchen had very few cooking utensils. It is not a place to stay if you plan to do much cooking. No biig spoons to stir any thing with. Also no tissue anywhere only toliet paper. The rocking chair in the living area was very rickety as well as one of the dining chairs. Other than that our stay was nice.

Nice, quiet 4th of July

Great house!
We loved the time that we spent at Con Alama. The house is located just outside of Alama. It’s a quick drive into town where we were able to visit the South Park Saloon and Almart for any quick needed items. The house is only 10 miles from Breckenridge which offers AMAZING views when driving over Hoosier Pass.

Great location
Everything went well. However, we give it 4 stars because we did not like the bed in the master bedroom. But other than that, we are quite pleased with our vacation. Only 25 minutes from Breckenridge. In the other direction, about 15 minutes is Fairplay which has a grocery store and a Dollar General. 2 fishing spots less than 5 minutes from the house. Also hiking trailheads less than 20 minutes from the house. I caught my 1st. rainbow trout and we saw our 1st moose! Aspens were golden. Awesome scenery everywhere, including from the deck of the house. Having laundry machines was convenient. The fenced back yard was great for our small dogs.

From the sea level to high altitude
We enjoyed our stay in the mountains of Colorado. What beautiful scenery all around the house! The house felt cozy and comfortable for our family. We traveled with a small dog and she had a great time, too. All of us experienced high altitude sickness (nausea, hard to catch our breath), but we live at sea level. We enjoyed the solitude and tranquility.

Off the grid cabin
Nice cabin with a beautiful kitchen! Fenced in area for the dog. One road takes you to Breckenridge (about 30 minutes) but the drive goes quick.

The home is small, outdated and was not cleaned to the standard we typically find in VRBOs. Furniture was uncomfortable at best. Most of the dining area was broken, loose or wobbly. The house advertised sleeps 5, which was true, but there was only safe seating for 2. Kitchen was stocked with terrible cooking pots and pans. Mismatched glasses, mugs etc.

Great views. The amount of stairs was imposing. Lack of some essentials , no kleenex, no bar soap or body wash , only liquid hand soap. Lights in kitchen not all working. Dining table chairs unstable. Very limited seating (only a small 2 person couch and a rocking chair).

Pretty basic with nice mountain views
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Con Alma. Nothing about the home is super fancy and some of if was obviously DIYed, but the location was exactly what I was looking for - quiet with mountain views and not totally isolated. There are several nearby homes that didn't appear in the listing photos, but they weren't distracting at all. The wood burning stove was nice and plenty of wood was provided, the showers were hot, and while the WiFi is definitely not great the TV package does include lots of movie channels. Don't plan on cooking any complicated or fancy meals - the random cookware available seemed to have been scavenged from a yard sale and has absolutely seen better days. It was super easy to get to the house even with several inches of snow in just a small AWD vehicle. However, exploring further down some of the county roads (anything with a CR-#) to get to nearby hiking trails you'd definitely want 4WD with good clearance. These roads seem to quickly turn into something closer to off-road tracks as they gain elevation. TLDR: If you want a quiet, simple mountain getaway that's still within an easy drive of Fairplay, this is a nice spot. If you're looking for luxury or planning to work remotely, this is not the house for you.
