"Staff were friendly and the property itself exudes vintage elegance. Unfortunately our room (Room 5 on ground floor) smelt extremely strongly of damp, so we didn't unpack any belongings. Despite opening windows and airing the room, there remained a very strong smell. There is obviously a long-term damp problem with this room which the owners should really get fixed."

We were upgraded on arrival - with an extra TV room - even though they didn’t need to, and the beds were so comfy, both of us had a wonderful night’s sleep. Despite the fact we accidentally came down to breakfast 10 mins before it ended, they still accommodated us, and it was a very good breakfast, with lots of options! On the second night, we ate at the restaurant and the food was cooked perfectly, topped off with a complimentary bottle of wine...
