"Dinner was excellent, but only a 3 coarse option appeared to be available. Breakfast was self service which for hot food was no better than say a Premier Inn breakfast, which was disappointing for this type of hotel. My room was quite a distance from reception and I had to traverse intermediate stairs that might be an issue for less ambulant persons. "

"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

"We have stayed at Ravenstone Manor previously and have found the service to be excellent. Ravenstone is a very dog friendly hotel (so be prepared to see dogs even in the dining areas - the meals are excellent). The hotel is always kept clean and tidy and the views are breathtaking. Staff are friendly and the service is second to none. If you have a dog or just a dog lover, I would highly recommend Ravenstone Manor. Walks in the area are plentiful and scenery is amazing."

We were very kindly upgraded to a suite. It was very spacious and really nice but needs a little TLC in the bathroom with a jacuzzi and the curtain hooks need attention. All things that can be easily addressed. We had dinner on one evening and it was delicious and well presented. Breakfast was okay but do not like having to order...
