Banyuwangi 3 Stars Hotels

"This is a very interesting property….driving up the very narrow dirt road…we had the feeling that we made a wrong turn! Many private villas that compromise the resort….restaurants were exceptional- food and service outstanding and the spa was next-level!!! It was a bonus for us that we had one of only a handful of bungalows without a private pool….which meant we enjoyed nearly all to ourselves the 30 meter infinity edge pool with view of the sea and Java’s volcanoes ….was better than a private...

"We booked 3 rooms for the 6 of us for a 3 night stay. The truth is the start wasn't so good, as one of the rooms was the wrong type (twin istead of King). The rooms themselves though are well sized and very comfortable. The showers are excellent and a reasonable range of variety of tv channels. The pool is excellent and was a highlight, esp for the children. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is pretty good. They offer great kids choices. Room service was a bit of a disaster...

"Base to see sights of Banyuwangi. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the Indonesian breakfast was ample. Car required for this location. There is a shop across it that does general provisions and simple meals. Also went out of their way to purchase meals from outside. The room I booked did not have the advertised mountain view, and the shower room lacked a sink. "

"This was a convenient place to overnight between Bromo and Bali. The grounds are huge and decorated with beautiful sculptures, and the pool area was large and nicely done. The rooms were fine, but the bathrooms were very dirty- everything needed a good scrubbing, and our bathtub had around 10 dead insects in it when we arrived. "

"Pros:the dive company at this hotel is very good The hotel is good value for money The location is handy. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach Cons: as diving company is French, its owners and majority of guests are French, they sit around a very large table with lounge chairs and speak in French and smoke. I found this very alienating as we like to meet other travellers but felt excluded and as non smokers can't handle smoking. If you don't mind that then this hotel may suit you."

"TirtaSari is very affordable relaxing accommodation. It’s like the real Bali 40 years ago. No hawkers , wonderful staff, super peaceful, lush gardens and nice pool, food was really good, spa also on site. Massages were great . Prices were very reasonable. Beach was a 2 minute walk. Room, particularly bathroom was tired, but priced to reflect that."

"Shabby, rundown, and dirty. There was a wasp nest in the bathroom window! The real kicker is that this property has bed bugs! Don’t stay. "

"This is absolutely a five star property experience, and to be frank, anyone who says otherwise is just and idiot. The property is manicured daily by a large group of caretakers, and the staff is constantly smiling at you while greeting you. It is set perfectly on the beach right in front of a biosphere for snorkeling, and very cheap (but great) restaurant extends to the beach as well. Don't give it a second thought, and just book it! You will love it!!! "
