“Three of us stayed Tabuaco for the vineyard visit. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained; the only main issue is that there's no elevator, so we had to draw our luggage for a couple stairs to reach the lobby and then three floors to the room. I was hoping that the room would be a bit bigger as it's a triple room. It's was in a quiet and clean neighborhood and we accidentally found a bar close by, quelha funda bar, which we love so much. “The owners mother was half an hour late to let us into the property meaning we were standing in 40 degree heat waiting for her, no apology once she arrived! The property was clean and tidy and the rooms were a good size. The rooms had air conditioning but it failed to cool all of the bedroom and it was very noisy meaning that it was impossible to keep on all night. The bed was rock hard, no give at all, it was like sleeping on a board meaning we had a very uncomfortable night. The kitchen was……

“A typical good rural cottage, with a helpful owner (use Google translate!), a basic breakfast is served, and there are full self-catering faciliies. It is well signposted and accessed by a short gravel road. It is a 20 minute walk into the new village for a bar/cafeteria meal (the old village is a bit further away and that was a famous Peninsular War battle site, but now it has nothing else).”
