I recently stayed at Super 8 by Wyndham Winnipeg East MB during a short business trip. Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are areas where improvements are needed.
The Good:
Breakfast: The morning breakfast was decent and provided a convenient start to the day.
Room Quality: The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, which made the stay comfortable.
Staff: The staff were super nice and accommodating, which added a positive touch to the experience.
Areas for Improvement:
Noise Insulation: The walls and ceilings are poorly insulated, making the room quite noisy. I could hear sounds from adjacent rooms and above.
Cooking Smells: It seemed like my room was directly below the kitchen, as I could smell cooking in the mornings.
Room Amenities: The room lacked certain standard amenities for 2024, such as multiple charging docks, an iron and ironing board, and an extra hot blanket.
Early Check-In Policy: Early check-in was not complimentary, even though rooms were clearly available, which felt unnecessary.
Location: The hotel’s location is quite remote, far from downtown and other key areas.
Suggestions:
For a hotel in this price range, I recommend considering options like the Alt Hotel Winnipeg or Holiday Inn and Suites Winnipeg Downtown. Both are closer to downtown, which could save significantly on transportation costs. If breakfast for two is the main deciding factor, the overall cost difference may not justify staying at this location.
