We had a wonderful stay at Kay El Bar Ranch. Stacey is a fabulous trail guide, friendly, great customer service, cares about the guests.
The guest house room was adorable and comfortable, there was a tub, but unfortunately couldn’t use it because there was no plug. Went to use the hot tub, it was broken.
We changed to a suite during our stay, it was large, but very outdated. Needed paint- stained walls, ceiling, the fireplace hadn’t been cleaned (looks like ever) and smoke comes straight into the cabin. Not safe, carbon monoxide nightmare. Bathroom was dirty, toilet had pee down the sides and on the floor in front of the toilet. The floor mat was old and super gross. Paying more for that suite, they should fix it up. I didn’t feel like it was worth the extra money.
The managers are nice, but very unorganized. They seemed much more concerned with their marketing photography going on then with the actual guests staying there. That was a bit of a bummer, as this place isn’t cheap! James, the breakfast and lunch cook is awesome. Provided amazing breakfasts and lunches that were delicious. He’s also friendly, kind and makes you feel happy and at home. We did have a great time, though it could be more organized. The staff is great, management needs some work and customer service skills.
