Just a weekend away
The property was easy to find, the instructions were great, communication with host was perfect! It really is a tranquil place (in-spite of the unsightly yard a few doors down mentioned by another reviewer, don’t let this scare you away). It was a lovely stay.

Secluded Getaway
This is one of several cabins in a very wooded area. Great if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Not a place to stay of you're looking to get up and head to Starbucks. We were in the area to go kayaking at Red River Gorge. Owners were very responsive to all communications and questions.

Cute House In a Quiet Neighborhood
The house was very roomy and cute. It was in a cul-de-sac type neighborhood and all the neighbors were very friendly! The owners were friendly and gave us firewood to burn! They also had a run for our pups to use. The location was good as well. Just a couple minutes away from boating docks and about 15-20 min from the beach. We would stay again 😊

Mini vacation
The cabin we stayed at was beautiful and had Wi-Fi and mobil service. If you didn’t want to eat in there was a stove and grill provided for you plus a fridge to put your food in. It is so peaceful and quite there, no noisy neighbors to bother you . We just loved it. Angela and Jeff are very nice

Property ID 2035962 Tranquil Oaks Cabin.
The property is presented in the listing as a nice little cabin in the woods, which is a little misleading. Clean and simple on the inside, located close to Cave Run Lake and DB National Forest, it is not TRANQUIL. The cabin is in a small neighborhood, surrounded by cabins with junk cars in the front yard and piles of trash all over the yards, reminds me of a bad trailer park. Several cabins look to be abandon while others look like a place to pile old furniture, mattress, or whatever on the porches and decks. There are not any restaurants close to the cabin so cooking is necessary. The kitchen is poorly stocked. A skillet, pan and a few utensils, likely purchased at Goodwill, along with cheap plastic plates and mason jars for glasses. Make sure to inspect the grill before cooking it was covered the rodent droppings inside and out. Be very careful if you are planning a stay in the heat of summer, July and August. There is No Central AC, not a big deal for our April trip but the upstairs rooms were hot. I find it hard to believe the small window AC in the bathroom will make the bedrooms comfortable in the heat of July or August. It is an A-Frame cabin with Bedrooms upstairs, like being in an attic.

Worst VRBO Experience Ever
Our stay began with finding the two-bedroom cabin having only one bedroom ready. When I called the owner to inquire as to why the second bedroom didn't have bedding on the bed, she told me that I had indicated two people were renting the cabin. This is true, but my son and I were renting the cabin. When my husband and I travel, we often rent places with one bedroom, but who is to say that we aren't a couple who do not choose to sleep in the same bedroom? The owner told me that I needed to be more clear next time. I have never been told by a VRBO owner that I needed to indicate who I am traveling with. That same evening we discovered a bigger issue = fleas. I waited until the following morning to report the issue. Fortunately, the owner assured me that flea bombs would be set off while my son and I were out hiking. However, when we returned there was no evidence of the bombs = no odor, no residue. There also was no note, no message, no text or phone call from the owners telling us that they had addressed the problem. And the fleas were still active. At this point, the vibe we had received from the owners led us to believe that complaining again would do no good. We continued to coat ourselves with bug spray and try to be gone from the cabin as much as possible. On the website, the distance listed from the cabin to Red River Gorge was 16 miles. We certainly felt when we researched the cabin that the drive to hike each day would be doable. However, when we actually drove to hike in Red River Gorge, it took an hour to get there and was approximately 30 miles. Same with driving to Natural Bridge State Park = one hour. We hated that we spent two hours a day driving. If we had known how far away the hiking would be, we would have rented a place closer. When we felt that we couldn't stand the fleas any longer, we made plans to leave a day early and rent another cabin the final day of our trip even though this was an unforeseen and added expense. I messaged the owners to let them know that we were leaving and why. The owners responded that they HAD set off the flea bombs and that we should have known they had been there because the ceiling fans had been turned off(?) They also made the comment that we had arrived "in a less than nice manner." No idea what they were referring to. Also told us we wouldn't be welcome to rent their cabin again. AS IF!!!

Great Cabin
Very clean, in a quiet location, but close enough to some great trailheads for hikes in RRG. Jeff and Angela were great hosts. Would definitely return to this cabin if/when we go back to the Gorge.
