The location is amazing! It's so close to plenty of shops and restaurants and Watkins Glen is a great home base to venture up either side of Seneca Lake for wine tasting. We had no problems walking anywhere we wanted to go from the property, but if you're not familiar with the area, be aware that there are some steep hills in Watkins Glen that may be difficult for some people to walk.
The property was clean and the fridge, microwave, and shower worked really well. However, I'm giving this property 4 stars for two reasons. First, the TV/WiFi. The TV only seemed to work with the internet and the WiFi in the room wasn't great. When we first got in the TV wasn't connecting at all. I messaged the host and they responded quickly but by the time they did it started working. Then we experienced intermittent connection issues and long periods where it would freeze and buffer every 15 seconds or so the rest of the stay. I was able to cast my phone to the TV and stream from there. May not be a big deal for someone but my girlfriend needs the TV on to sleep so it was a big deal for us and luckily I found a workaround.
The second issue was that there were no towels. I messaged the host and they told us where they should be. By that time we were out and when we got back I only saw an empty spot where they said the towels should be. It was kind of late so the next morning we just bought some. I'm sure the host would have brought them but we didn't want to wait.
