Summary:
Entirely new two bedroom luxury apartment in the historic row house of formerly owned by one of recent history’s most colorful Congressmen! Explore charming Dupont Circle with dozens of restaurants and metro a short walk away. Enjoy a meal or drink on the front patio w/private outdoor space. You'll have plenty of space to work from home, fast wifi, and large smart TV on comfy West Elm sectional to relax. Can also cook in the fully stocked chef's kitchen with Keurig, Nespresso, and dishwasher.
The Space:
One bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, den has a trundle bed with two twins (brand new mattresses), and sectional in living room converts to queen-sized bed, so there is plenty of space to sleep six (though note there is one bathroom).
Multiple people could work from the apartment, at the desk near entry, on the kitchen peninsula, and dining room.
Chairs and table are outside on the front porch for your exclusive use (though limit noise outside after 10pm please) to enjoy the historic, quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of DC.
We would be happy to provide a pack and play and a high chair/booster for young children
Notice of construction. Our neighbor is doing an extensive remodel on the home next door. This noise is expected to be disruptive through the Spring. If you are planning to work from home this may not be the perfect fit for you. Please reach out to discuss your stay so we can help find you the perfect fit.
Additional fee for one pet is $20/night, if you have more than one please send us a message to discuss if our space will be a fit!
This home is below a classical musician, so you may hear a faint piano serenade during the daytime.
Guest Access:
You'll have the entire apartment and to yourself with your own entrance and patio space!
The Neighborhood:
We love calling Dupont Circle our home! It’s a beautiful, historic, residential pocket right on the edge of downtown. Walk among trees and well tended front gardens bursting with flowers in springtime, next to Embassy Row and a 30 min walk to the White House.
We are surrounded by all types of great restaurants and bars, parks and playgrounds, and a short walk to the Phillips Collection’s great art.
Getting Around:
Dupont circle is an extremely walkable neighborhood—we rarely use our car. Our home is close to the red line metro that brings you right downtown close to the national mall. Biking in the city is great too with some care—lots of bike lanes have been added (shared city bikes are a block away).
Street parking is available but can be tight. Nonresident cars have a 2 hour limit during the day, but I can get you a visitor parking pass a day in advance. If you need off steer parking including electric vehicle charging (we have a high voltage charger) behind our house (fenced in with garage door) during your stay we may be able to arrange that for an additional fee.
Other Things to Note:
In living room you may hear your concert pianist host playing upstairs rehearsing for her concerts (not before 9a or after 8p). We have two toddlers but try to limit their noise as best we can. There is a lot of insulation for sound though!
We are looking forward to hosting you but there are a few things you need to do in order to make sure that you, and all of our guests, are safe and that everyone can enjoy their respective stays! This message also includes other useful information about pets, baby gear and parking:
