The Hide is a tranquil getaway, tucked into the corner of Lemons Farm, our 15th Century thatched farmhouse. Originally a piggery, the cob and stone building has been converted into a little cottage with a living area, kitchenette, bathroom and mezzanine sleeping area. Fall asleep under the stars and wake to the sound of birdsong.
Although small, the kitchenette is well equipped with pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. We have a two-ring hob, small microwave/combi oven and a two-person air fryer. There is a full-size fridge with small freezer compartment at the top.
The living area has a small dining table and chairs, comfy sofa, TV, books, board games and a DAB radio.
The mezzanine sleeping area has a comfy double bed, clothes storage and a flat-screen TV. The stairs are steep (ladder-style staircase) so please consider carefully before booking if you have mobility issues.
The Hide has central heating in the winter (with an extra two electric radiators and electric log-burner), and a fan is available during the summer months. An iron and ironing board can be supplied if requested, and guests can use our washing machine if needed.
Lemons Farm is located in Atherington, a lovely village with a church, tennis court and park. Some great pubs are nearby as are the gorgeous North Devon beaches.
Guests have their own enclosed patio seating area with a BBQ (bring your own charcoal) and chiminea (logs and kindling are provided) together with a private sun deck behind The Hide overlooking the gardens of Lemons Farm.
The Hide is self contained so it remains very private, though it is attached to our farmhouse and we are often around and about in the garden if the sun is shining. Feel free to knock on our door whenever you need anything.
We are just half an hour from many of North Devon's incredible beaches, and about 40 minutes from Exmoor. The surrounding countryside is peaceful and beautiful and we're sure you'll love it here as much as we do.
