“Lack of staff at reception for check-in. I checked in and being asked to obtain a credit card, when I am getting in, someone come to ask to solve a problem. “The hotel definitely cannot be called Grand. It was build on a pub. But it is true it has a long history, built in 1833. It is not value for the money paid. “The cottage was very clean and beds were very comfortable. It had good heating and the spa was lovely. Breakfast was provided but we did stay 2 nights and felt that the provisions were only for 1 night especially when 4 people booked. We used the resturant and the meal was generous and nice. “Rose Cottage had a small fridge but it was generously stocked for breakfast items for the 6 nights of our stay. Location is good. There was pet hair and pet odour on the sofa which we cleaned.
