Staff are friendly and attentive, nothing is any trouble. Pub is lovely, didnt try the dinner but looked good and reasonable prices. Property itself, being old, is creaky and a little worn round the edges but it adds to the atmosphere and doesn't takeaway from the cleanliness and attention to detail - room 10, private access from outside, was a good size and spotless, plenty of tea/coffee/sugar n soap stuff, information pack extensive, bed very comfy, pillows a bit hard, blackout curtains were excellent. Breakfast serving was a bit slow but we weren't in any hurry, and you can pre book the night before if you are. No aircon but it is C17th so wasn't expected - we took our own fan. All-in-all we wouldn't hesitate to book again when we're back in the area.
