Our Villa offers stunning mountain views, elegant design inspired by our mountain setting and Austrian/Trapp legacy, impeccable service, along with the year round activities and adventure. Free access to all resort amenities: pool, fitness center, hot tub, tennis courts, hiking trails, etc. Stowe skiing and charming downtown at your fingertips. Divine!

Our Villa is a splendid getaway surrounded by several other exquisite destinations. Let the villa serve as home base while you partake in the myriad wonders of Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe Mountain Resort and the town of Stowe, and the broader Green Mountains and Burlington.

With a king bed guest suite, bonus living room (two sleeper sofas), and two full bathrooms including a jacuzzi tub, dining room, kitchenette, porch and more, you are in for a getaway you're not going to forget.

Trapp Family Lodge:
Situated on 2,500 acres in idyllic Stowe, VT and boasting miles of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and mountain biking, make Trapp a magical four seasons destination. A unique mountain resort known for beautifully blending the best of Austrian themes and architecture with the majesty of Vermont. The Resort consists of a Main Lodge with a restaurant, bar, shops, and guest rooms; Guest Villas and Private Villas as standalone properties around the Trapp grounds; a Fitness Center and Spa Facility are the entry point to amenities like pool/spa, gym, tennis courts, rock climbing wall, yoga studio, and more; an Outdoor Center serves as the gateway to 30 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, and snowshoeing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the warmer months, making Trapp a magical four seasons destination; use the trail system to access the Trapp Brewery and disc golf (or short drive from our Villa if you prefer); and finally the Trapp grounds include genuine, active farming elements such as sheep, highland cattle, maple syrup harvesting, and more.

Trapp publishes a schedule of enriching activities, such as horse-drawn wagon rides, tours of the property, historical tours of the lodge chronicling the von Trapp family, baking classes, craft-making opportunities, afternoon tea and cookies in the main lodge, seasonal evening campfires with s'mores, guided hiking tours, and more. You will receive a copy of the schedule when you check-in or you can access it online.

Administrative Note:
Please note your rental provides access to the 1 bedroom, 1 master bath guest suite on the main level and a bonus room via separate entrance that includes two sleeper sofas (1 queen, 1 twin) and 1 full bathroom. Parties of 4 are standard. Extra fees apply for groups of 5.

Perfect!
Suite was exactly as advertised; stay on Von Trapp lodge property even better than expected! We enjoyed the restaurant, the birthdays, the cross country ski trails and the hot tub. If you arrive early for check in or want to stay a little longer after check out there’s plenty of places to hang out and things to do on the property. Perfect! Can’t wait to stay again.

We had just a couple of hiccups...when given the packet with key cards in it at the main lodge check-in, we drove off to the villa. Of course, the keys did not work and we had to drive back to the lodge and have front desk rekey the cards. Secondly, I had received tons of information prior to arrival about the property and amenities inside. There was a working fireplace and wood and kindling provided HOWEVER there was no sort of lighter with which to start the fire. Had to wait until next day to go find one to purchase in town. Not a lot of thought put into that.

Beware! Owner misrepresented his property!
We were really looking forward to our stay at in this Villa. It was a little pricey for a one bedroom but it looked nice with a lot of amenities. First, it states specifically No Pets Allowed and use of a hot tub on the Lodge property. We would never book anything that allows dogs. The renters in the other side of the villa had 2 barking dogs. Each time the people left they barked and they barked upon their return. They barked when we returned to the villa. We are dog people but we did not pay to hear someone elses dogs bark. The hot tub was closed the entire month of October for renovations. We contacted the owner who simply said "It is pet friendly. You must have booked from an old ad." It's the ad I paid him through so how can it be old?. He also told us he didn't know the hot tub was closed. We asked up at the Lodge and was told all owners were notified of the renovations. How easy to just shrug us off with not even an I'm sorry offered. We would not have booked here if it was pet friendly and no hot tub. There are many great choices. Even though the grounds are very nice, there are other Villas and you have no idea what you will get when you rent this one. Vrbo was no help with this when we returned home. It's disappointing the owner is allowed to do this and the renter has no backing. I was told they had no recourse with the owner because we didn't contact them in a certain time frame.

Perfect get away
If you are looking for a quiet get away- this property is for you. Relaxing views of the mountains. Local hiking and biking on premises. Villas were located far enough away to give space and privacy. You are close to Von Trapp restaurants and amenities but you need to drive into Stowe for other entertainment/restaurants/pubs.

Beautiful location/ views. 3.5/5 stay
Great location, nice views. Host replied promptly. Check in was a little confusing. Was told Key cards would be in the actual lodge unit in the door jam before checking in. Had to go to the main lodge 5 minutes down the road and talk to a receptionist. Listing is a little deceiving. It’s One room connected to another section of the rest of the unit. Separated by 2 dead-bolted doors. Walls are paper thin and as mentioned by someone else, the neighbor had barking dogs that went off anytime you moved in or out. Lodge amenities are a drive down the road from the actual unit. Close drive to Stowe which was nice. Clean unit. Fireplace wasn’t cleaned upon checking in.

The villa was very nice. It was accurately described in the listing. Management communicated timely with me. We stayed in the guest bedroom portion of the villa. The only downside was the neighbors in the main villa had 3 dogs that barked when left alone

We had a perfect stay in Stowe! We were celebrating our 25th anniversary! The Villa was so quaint! JP was wonderful to work with! Very kind and helpful!!! We enjoyed our dinner at the Trappe lodge along with breakfast at the bakery every morning! , with the beautiful views we sat outside every morning enjoying the crisp cool fall air and gorgeous fall foliage while eating our yummy food! Soo many delicious options! We did eat breakfast in the dinning hall our last morning, it was a buffet style with equally delicious!!! Needless to say Villa 29 was just perfect! Thanks again JP!

Beautiful location, top notch lodging
There are many rental opportunities in the Stowe area, but the Trapp Family Lodge is unique for its spectacular location and its 2500 acres of trails, fields, and forests. Our rental resembled a master suite (and included a fireplace!). Clean, comfortable, and easy to come and go. We would rent it again.

Great stay at Trapps!
We loved our stay at the villa and can’t wait to plan a return trip! JP is a great host and he was so easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The villa is beautiful inside and out and has a great space for groups, with ample privacy for multiple couples and lovely views from the deck. The location at Trapps is hard to beat if you’re looking to enjoy the biking, hiking, and other amenities of the resort - it’s especially close to the bakery :). One reminder for folks not familiar with northern Vermont is to be careful with your trash - the bears are frequent visitors to Stowe now and we did see two large ones during our stay.
